It's fine to have the mortgage in one name and the title in both. We did it too - my husband is a bartender and the process of verifying his income would have taken too long, so the loan officer advised us to just move forward on my income alone, since it was enough to qualify. He's still named on all of the other paperwork.

But, FYI, you might have a hard time getting a mortgage yourself with such a short credit history. Our credit union wanted to see at least two years of work history, plus good credit.

We are doing the same thing. It will be in my husbands name as I do not have any credit in the US. I am honestly not worried about ROC- this I what is best for us at this moment.

False, you can use your husbands credit score and both incomes. Depends on the mortgage company. We are doing this exact thing.

Guys, be careful what you do on here based off others experiences. A "Quit Claim" does not put someone on a deed. It removes the person that signs from a deed. Check with a lawyer before you sign anything that removes your name off a deed for property. It also removes your right to sell that property.

OP, you have some pretty good evidence apart from the matter of your concern. Consider also: Do you have wills, medical powers of attorney, HIPAA releases, and other such documents? You can shop for attorneys to create these, or look on do-it-yourself websites for the required verbiage for your state of residence.

These documents are great as ROC evidence, and they're even more important in "life."
