Hello,

So my girlfriend and I want to get a K-1 Visa. I will be submitting it in the next week or so. I have visited her within the past 2 years, however I plan on visiting her in China (where she lives) in late January. I will stay there for about 6 months with her and also work there. I was wondering if my

I-129F is approved after I leave, could I go to the interview at a US Embassy in China ? Could both be interviewed together if that is the case ???

Any advice or insights are greatly appreciated !

Thanks !

what do you mean "could I go to the interview at a US Embassy in China" "Could both be interviewed together if that is the case"

After your petition is approved at USCIS it is sent to the embassy for further processing. Are you asking can you attend the interview with your fiance'?

And no you can not go in embassy with her petitioner mot allowed.

Here's your info page.

Don't I have to be interviewed here in the US in addition to just my fiance in her country or is it only my fiance ? OK, here is my concern, what if I indeed need to be interviewed before her visa is approved and I am in a China at the time they want one ? Sorry I am still hazy on all the steps.

Thanks for your help !

No petitioners are not interviewed for I-129F petitions. Well maybe a VERY rare occasions. I actually have never heard of fiance'/fiancee' interview for petitioner. For Married petitioner a few I have heard but there were BIG issues with their relationships and other situations that came up.

Its a rare occasion. So I wouldn't be concerned with it.

There is no interview for the petitioner, only for the beneficiary. Some consulates don't allow the petitioner to be present. In the DR consulate they strongly suggest that the petitioner is present, I don't know about China.

This does not constitute legal advice.

As far as I know, I think Guangzhou embassy doesn't allow petitioning spouse to join the interview,

your location relative to the K1 visa processing should not be impacted, but it will help the case

if you live in China for long time with her.

No, the USC petitioner is not allowed to be in attendance at the beneficiary's visa interview at the US consulate in Guangzhou. I got myself an expensive cup of coffee outside the consulate while waiting for my wife and stepson to complete their interview in 2012.

Review the Guangzhou embassy/consulate info page for more information, easily accessible at the top of the forum page, click on the Embassy Information button.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

sorry, Guangzhou IV Not allow Petitioners into the IV Unit for immigrant visa interviews. Beneficiaries, only.

---

no interview for petitioner for I-129F petition. Practice yer writing skills, instead.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
