Applying for AOS and the requirements....

Hi.

Me and my husband are about to apply for AOS. My question is, is it enough that i have my name on a few bills here and there, or how important is the co-mingling finances part? Is it enoguh ,if really important, to have a joint savings account?

Not to worry, the original AOS after marriage for a K-1 entrant doesn't need commingling of finances. They know it takes time to establish such things. But do work towards this as the standard expected to remove conditions two years later is much higher.

The only proof of marriage you need to send with the initial filing of AOS is a copy of your certified marriage certificate. If you happen to get an interview, then you can/should bring proof of co-habitation and co-mingling of finances and accounts.

But with one of the forms, it says you need to prove that you have a bonafide marriage, doesnt say anything that those proofs are needed for the interview...hmmm
