Issue with incorrect name at SS office

Is been two weeks since POE so I went to the local SS office. Turns out that the system has the incorrect name and the lady said she couldn't find me in the system until my husband told her to check using my middle name .

Seems that the immigration database entered the name as appears in passport and so my first and middle name now shows up as my first name. Even worse they have omitted the hyphen in my middle name and left off the last letter in the name.

Now she is saying it takes up to 6 weeks before hearing back from the NYC office and it may take another 4 to 6 weeks to sort out. Really?

USCIS:

Marriage (if applicable): 2012-08-10

I-130 NOA1 : 2013-05-10

I-130 RFE : 2013-12-17

I-130 RFE Sent : 2013-12-30 (they lost his picture)

I-130 Approved : 2014-01-13

NVC:

NVC Received : 2014-02-21

Received DS-261 / AOS Bill : 2014-03-10

Pay AOS Bill : 2014-03-10

Submit DS-261 : 2014-03-10

DS-261 form reject- under review: NVC keeps saying the form is incorrect. They made an error for two months re this form.

Checklist 1 AOS : They wanted 2013 even though we filed before the end of tax season

Receive IV Bill : 2014-05-23

Pay IV Bill : 2014-05-23

Send IV Package : 2014-05-26

Checklist 2 AOS : 2014-06-06 Issue with resubmitted I-864 form - did not auto populate one of the numbers

Requested Expedite : 2014-07-11

Case Completed at NVC : 2014-07-18

Consulate Received : 2014-07-25

Embassy:

Receive Instruction and Interview appointment letter : 2014-07-29

Medical : 2014-07-31

Interview : 2014-08-08 - APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the same issue.My first and middle name are all in one line.Got the card after about 8 business days.

GREEN CARD AND SSC STATUS

August 25,2014 Went to SSA to see what's going on with my SSC- SAVE has my middle name together with my first name.

August 28,2014 ELIS went from ACCEPTED TO OPTIMIZED IN PROCESS (INITIAL REVIEW)

September 2 Called local ssa and was told SSC was mailed/Elis says Green CARD production has begun

September 4,2014-received ssc

September 8,2014- green card mailed/closed on elis

September 9,2014- green card received yahooo!!

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS

Mailed Packet: 4/29/2016

NOA1: 5/2/2016

Bio Appt: 6/1/2016

Approval:2/13/2017

Received 10 year green card:2/17/2017

I suggest getting into a CBP secondary inspection office, talk with the shift supervisor,

and don't leave until it's fixed.

Sorry, no use of phone to fix this, must go in person.

Then wait a week. checking your online I-94 record daily to make sure the fix is in.

Then go back to a SSA office, apply again, with the newly printed I-94 in hand.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

This happened to me today too! I am so frustrated and at a loss on what to do. Why should we have to suffer just because they are too incompetent to enter information correctly?! :ranting:

What did you end up doing? Have you got your social yet? I hope you have it by now.

I tried to go into my then local office and they had no availability. I moved to Charlotte a week ago and so I am making a date for this week. No further movement on that but at least my green card was produced two weeks ago- now to actually get it in hand. smh
