Just thinking about different future ideas...
and came up with a general question about the whole K1 visa/ AOS process ---

my fiance and I are thinking about renting in a different location when I am able to come down to the USA on K1 visa --- Would moving into somewhere that's 'low income housing' affect the rest of the visa process?

thanks for any information anyone can give :)

No the only question is if the petitioner has enough income to support the applicant and/or sponsors available for the AOS portion of this process. Since you are applying for low income housing you must qualify by not making enough money and not making enough money could be an issue for the AOS part for K1 visa.

If he has enough income to meet the requirements for the I-864, then it does not matter. If he qualifies for low income housing, then he does. The income requirements for the affidavits of support are pretty low. He could meet the income requirements of the I-864 and still yet qualify for low income housing. Nowhere on the I-864 does it ask about getting a government housing subsidy. If he doesn't meet the requirement for the I-864, then he will need a joint sponsor.
