Hey my I129F petition was just approved last week. I recieved my hard copy confirmation in the mail, but I am not sure exactly what I am supposed to do now.

Congrats on your I-129f approval! Here's the K1 flowchart: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

I-129f approval or NOA2 is at Step #4. Next is your files will be forwarded to NVC where they will assign a case number. It may take 2-5 weeks for NVC to process an approved I-129f, but you can try to start calling NVC after about 10 business days from NOA 2 to inquire for the case number. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc/nvc-contact-information.html

After which, you can check on the consulate's website for instructions on how your fiance will go about the K-1 visa application in her country.

1. Well before the interview phase, go atop any VJ page, click "Embassy Info" and "Reviews: Embassy," and study both the overall trends and the recent reviews for your consulate. Pay closest attention to the worst stories. Also search your regional VJ forum for relevant threads.

2. Study ahead. Because you're behind the power curve on knowing what's going to happen, work to catch up on learning about the next phases of the process. After the consular interview (and, it's hoped, the granting of the visa) comes relocation to the U.S., marriage, compiling the AOS/EAD/AP packages (for example, have you allocated the funds for the Adjustment of Status process in advance?), removing conditions, and citizenship.

Fortunately, VJ has a smorgasbord of information on every phase. Welcome to the forum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

This is a great question Yoveeta. I, too, am not clear on the wait time for this step of the process.

I received my NOA2 (approval!) September 9 via text and email. I then received a letter about this in the mail a few days later, which was also dated Sept. 9. I called NVC yesterday and after an hour on hold I spoke to a representative. He took my receipt number (from my I-129F) and said I still wasn't in the system and asked when I received my NOA2. When I told him two weeks ago he chuckled and said that wasn't nearly enough time. I told him that forums say two weeks (this appears in many places on this website) and he said current times are 5 weeks. I don't know if they just give you the worst case scenario or tell you a long time so you don't keep calling, but this seems long compared to everything else I've read. Should I just keep calling every few days?

Once NVC assigns a case number, can one immediately call to arrange the beneficiary's interview? (My fiance is in Cuba, for this you have to make your own appointment, NVC doesn't assign one. I want to do this as soon as I possibly can because the wait time for an interview in Cuba is 4-5 months). Or do you need to get a bill from NVC and pay the fee before interviews can be organized?

Also, how can you check to know when USCIS sends your packet to NVC and that it's received?

I've checked throughout the VJ website but didn't find anything that answered these questions. If I'm in the wrong place and someone could redirect I would appreciate it!

I am in the same situation with you. You have to wait for NVC who will write you and forward your package to the consulate where your fiancée will be applying for his/her visa. Good luck

So it's normal that after almost month of approval we still don't have any other news?

Congratulations on your approvals .I think its time you start calling the NVC . :dancing::dancing:
