We are appling for the K-1 fiance visa. Which is the right category.

These are my choices when i check non immigrant.

if I choose immigrant they list k-1 visa as a choice?

You need to choose IMMIGRANT visa, because the K-1 visa is processed at the immigrant visa unit.

Thanks for your reply. This makes sense, because when I check Immigrant, K-1 becomes an option.

It is so confusing though, every other form and the instructional information lists the k-1 as non immigrant?

It is technically a non-immigrant visa. However, the K-1 visa is a special case because it also has immigrant intent. Because of that, it is processed through the immigrant visa sections of the consulates and processed much like an immigrant visa.

not sure if anyone is still following this but im at this stage and there is no K1 visa option in either category....how can I pay the DS 160 fee and schedule interview then??
