No worries and i did not mean to jump at you either.

As you can tell my fiancee and I are having many challenges thrown at us we fighting through. Many more than i mentioned and i know more what is going on around her than the average person. We wish we could fly her here to wait out the paperwork. But we cannot. And i have not slept many nights and gone weeks on four hours a night.

But at the same token i know life is not fair. And if and my fiancee were in her situation we would probably be asking what to do. So i ask myself to put my frustration and emotions aside (which i do not always do) and try to give someone some sound advice based on what i may do in their situation.

Personally if I had plenty of extra cash or if it was a fly or forfeit the cost of the flight. I would get all of the paperwork done i could make the trip and leave everything in my bags at the fiancees and return with empty suitcases. If i could get refunds on the ticket or postpone until was ready i may do that.

I do not know. Thing is each couples situation is different and we must deal with the hand we have been handed.

Okay, I'm a guy for one. For second I did not even imply that getting the NOA2 early was a bad thing. I said I was shocked by it, I was surprised and completely shaken. That doesn't mean it's a bad thing, what it means is that now I have to work out what I'm going to do about our trip which is an added load of stress that I really did not need right now.

Now I am truly sorry that the visa rules are stricter on people from your country than they are from mine but that is not my fault and it's not really fair for you to be projecting your frustration on the matter onto me like that. It's not my fault that people from your country are scrutinized harder when entering the US and I do not deserve to be treated this way for asking for assistance just because my circumstances are different to yours.

I came here to ask for advice, to ask if there was any way to suspend the process for a few months or do my interview in the states. I'm not being ungrateful that I got my NOA2 early, it's stressful. This entire process is stressful and you should know that it is. I don't have anyone who I can really talk this out with and who can lend me a hand with it all at the moment so I came here hoping that the people who had been through it all would have the answers to help me.

I do not want to cancel my trip to see my fianceé because it is something that we have both been looking forward to for months, something we both need and something I have put a fair bit of money into already. I come from a very poor background so the idea of paying upwards of £250 to change the date of my plane ticket is not exactly negligible for me.

Third, stop assuming things about people. One would think that given we are all in the same shitty position you would be more sympathetic towards those in a similar place to you. Would you want people coming into your threads in which you asked for help and having a go at you? No. So don't do it to other people.

It's okay brother, I felt the exact same way, because we both are going through almost the exact same scenarios. It made me think for a little bit if i should cancel the trip and reschedule the flight, but in the end, it'll cost almost the same, might as well enjoy the trip and book your (our) medical and interview for when you're (we're) back which I think it'll give you (us) enough time. (I'm only going for 10 days).

Appreciate it. My main cause for concern in going though is that I will be staying over there until January, going over for the holidays and such. So I'm concerned that if I drag my feet for that long it'll cause some kind of backlash?

Whoops I just noticed the January bit, lol. If I were you, I'd try to change the itinerary. It seems silly to go visit just to fly back home and re-enter after an interview. :P

Ah, as the poster I quoted above, I didn't realize about the January part when you mentioned it, sorry :P haha. I agree with him, come back to London for your medical and Interview and then re-enter with a one way. Maybe rescheduling the return flight to something earlier than January? (if it's a viable option for you). If not.. man, I wouldn't know what else to say, just do whatever you feel lighter and not heavy. ;)

It is hard to believe anyone to be so lucky, to get NOA 2 and not be ready to move forward.,.,..,why did you file to begin with?

Was an NOA 2 your goal when filing a K-1 visa? If so, please consider how lucky you are and take advantage of this, and get back to where you need to be, and make prep. for interview. Is that the goal you had when you filed the K-1, or "do you want your candy, and eat it too".,..,..,I understand your flight.,.,.,.but.,..,that care of what is the most important to """YOU""" .,.,.,.,and "your wife to be!"

We ARE ready to move forward, why on earth does me wanting to delay the process until I get back from America mean I'm not ready to go through with it? And honestly saying "Why did you file to begin with" is just insulting. You're implying I don't want this, when I do. But both my fianceé and I have planned around this trip now because every single timeline and bit of information I had available to me penned the NOA2 as arriving in November at the earliest. I'd never even seen someone get their NOA2 within 4 months of applying, it was always 6 months or more.

I just don't want to have wasted £800 on my flight in October and I want to be with my fianceé for the holidays. That was always the plan, I was not expecting to get the NOA2 this soon. From the processing times when I booked the flight less than two weeks ago it seemed as if they were still months away from getting to our application, I thought we would be getting the NOA2 in November/December at the earliest. I could never have predicted getting it in September just over four months after we applied.

I do not have the money to waste moving the flight back, yet if I don't go then I have wasted £800. Both my fianceé and I need this trip for our mental healths, we both suffer severely from different forms of depression and we both have been utterly wrecked by being away from each other. Hence why I am determined to push back the visa for now, get everything prepared stateside then come back and continue the process. Getting to see each other is more important right now than getting the visa faster, we are both prepared for the extra time it will take to get the Visa if I delay the process if it means getting to see each other again and spending the holidays together.

I came here to ask for advice on if I could push back the process until next year or if I could continue stateside and I've just been getting bombarded with guilt trips and people being generally rude. Frankly, I didn't ask for your opinions on what I want to do, I'm doing what is right for my fianceé and myself right now. Whether or not you agree with what we want to do is irrelevant, I just wanted advice on if it was possible or not.
