Letter of Intent to Marry

Hi,

I am scheduled for the K-1 Interview this coming October 29. I asked my fiance to send me the copy of the I-129F that he filed, which also includes the Intent to Marry. However, this is dated around May, 2014. I am not sure if the embassy would accept photo scanned copies of an updated Letter of intent, as this will cost a lot when sending a 1 page document thru Fedex? Thanks and hoping to hear from you.

You don't need an updated letter of intent at USEM. They do not ask for it. All they asked us for was to see some pictures of us together.

Agreed with Zedayn. I am yet to hear from anybody who was asked for a new Letter of Intent to Marry at USEM, but so far none yet for the last 2 years that I had been reading Manila consulate reviews. It remains just a recommendation. So don't think too much about it. Focus instead on other proofs of an ongoing relationship like pictures, emails, chatlogs, etc.

How about the Fiance's passport Bio Page? Thanks

Not required for the embassy interview either. It might be asked for the CFO though.

Ok, thanks friends! I am already preparing for my interview, maybe I am just too detailed I guess. Looking at forums/group pages on facebook, some of them has to bring all of the documents their fiance has filed for the I-129F Petition, so I thought I'd do the same.

I was just like you a year ago, so ... at least try to not lose sleep over it. ;) As for the whole I-129f package, it was and will never be asked so don't bring that bulky thing. Quality over quantity. Bring only a few evidences of relationship that stands out, definitely not everything.

All the best!

Its ok to be well prepared and organized. When you have your interview, just be confident and always smile. The interview is actually really easy. You can read about our embassy interview here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=14810

It will give you an idea the kinds of questions they asked us.

Don't bother with a copy of the I-129F. Letter of Intent has not been asked for in years. (not to say some CO won't have a bad day and ask ;) )

How about the Fiance's passport Bio Page? Thanks

Copy of BIO page of your fiance's passport is not needed at the embassy, but CFO is known to ask for it, so have him email a copy of that and a few other things listed in my link below

For details on the process in Manila follow the flashing arrow below, then click the link

I thought the checklist says that you need the letter of intent signed by petitioner 30 days before interview date? Or is that country specific ? Im at the montreal consulate.

Each consulate is different in their requirements. The letter of intent is not on the list of requirements for USEM. They only want to see evidence of a genuine engagement. They give examples of what you can bring, such as letters, photos, etc. but a specific letter of intent is not listed.
