We arrived to the embassy about 5:30am, and already so many people in line! There were 3 lines: 1 for seafarers, 1 for appts from 7 to 7:10, and 1 for appts from 7:15 to 7:30. Our appt was at 7:30 so we fell in line at the 3rd line. They started letting all the seafarers go to the tent areas at 6. About 7am I noticed that the guard let a k-1 case pass by with the seafarers. So we asked the guard if we could pass by also since we're k-1, and he let us through. Another guy there asked what her case was, she said k-1, and we were directed to get in line 4 which was the line for fiancee visas. This line was very short! So when they start letting people in, talk to the guard and let him let you through. No reason to have to wait coz the line was so short.
When we arrived to the podium at line 4, she asked for the first page of the appt letter, the ds-160 confirmation page and her passport. They put a barcode sticker on the back of her passport and put it in a plastic bag with the bio page facing out. Then we went inside the first security checkpoint. There were 2 doors u could enter: 1 for visa applicants and the other for us citizens. I just followed my fiance through the door she went through. When we finished through security we got in line to get our ticket number. After that they told us to go in door 2. Door 2 was on the left side of the outside waiting area up some steps. There were 2 doors: 1 for visa applicants the other was us citizen services. There is a visa photo booth in the waiting area that will do 6 visa photos for like 80 pesos. Outside they were selling them for 190...so if u forgot just get them inside. We went through the door on the right and had to do security che k again. We were directed to window 39 where they took her appt letter and told us to sit and wait.
The q board has I think 8 numbers they flash on there, and if u miss it the first time they will flash it again. Also the greeters in the blue shirts will also call out the number. We waited for maybe an hour and we were called to the filipino counsel for the interview. She asked for all the original documents including my affidavit of support. I asked her if she wanted my paystubs too and she also took those. Then she asked my fiancee:
What is your name?
What is your date of birth?
How old are you?
She confirmed her cell # and email address
How did you meet?
Then she asked me:
What is your name?
What is your birthday?
Were you married before?
Then she mentioned my ex names.
Do you have kids?
Where do they stay?
Do you support your kids?
Then they asked her again:
Were u married before?
Do u have kids?
Do you have any pictures together?
We showed her the 2 albums we had and flipped through the pictures. She said that was good and to show the american counsel the pictures later. Then we sat down again to wait more.
About 30 min later we were called to window 42 for biometrics. The american there was from oklahoma and had a distinct accent. He was very friendly and after he took her fingerprints, me and him were chatting a bit about the similarities about our states and about the cold winter. He then wished us luck and we went to sit again. We waited for a long time and eventually all the visa applicznts had their interview except us. We were one of the last.
Then they called our number to window 62. There were 2 american counsels there, and they asked her to read the oath. Then they said to my fiancee:
State your full name.
State your date of birth.
Then the counsel said to me:
Are you the petitioner?
State your full name.
State your date of birth.
Then he thanked me so much for coming and to have a seat and they would call me if they had any questions of me. So I told my fiancee jokingly that now shes on her own. Both COs laughed. So after I sat down they started to ask my fiancee questions:
How long have you known each other?
When is your plan to get married?
Is it a ceremony?
How many visitors?
Do you have family to be there? She said no and then he smiled and jokingly said aww so sad
Was your fiance married before?
How many times?
What are the names of his ex wives?
Does he have kids?
How many?
What does your fiance do for a living?
Were you married before?
Do you have kids?
Are you excited to go to the US?
Then they said welcome to the US! Then he gave her 2 pamphlets about domestic abuse. Then the counsels talked to themselves what more could they ask her, and the one CO said she was well prepared and that she was good to go. So she asked them: Am I approved? And they said yes!!
Next we waited just a few more minutes and then were called to ghe releasing window. He told us not to book any flights until we had the visa, and that it would take about a week. Then we left the embassy.
