Of course however my fiance and his family seems to think I do not know anything. Like pray and stuff. I am a hard core reader and I like to study topics and I study as my brain can take in. He was surprised to see that I was not a "newbie" I prefer the termed "seasoned" you know. To see my pray and he will try to explain something and I will finish it. I do not have much patiances for his family however, they like to ask thousands of questions about what I know. I do not like these kinds of questions and I do not answer them. They normally make me so upset but I think they are starting to get the point. One thing that I notice about his family is that they feel like if they do not see it then you do not do it. Which is ridicilous, when I pray is my busy. And one time I guess his aunt wanted to show me how to do wudu and I was so pissed, but I did not know what to say. I just got up and I came back to the restroom another time. It is crazy but I am guessing this is how Morocco is. I have only seen this with his fmaily but his whole family acts this way.

Is English your first language? Are you a native speaker?

It's a bloody legitimate question. Reading her posts, I was just curious about what exactly I was dealing with here. If that of a native speaker, then my conclusions that she's an ignorant, sub-literate cretin based on the content of her posts and piss-poor ability to articulate would be well warranted. If not, then maybe something was being lost in translation.

Private: I was a Muslim long before meeting my husband. I was introduced to Islam over 12 years ago. And I converted in 1997. As many have already said here learning never stops. I am not sure if if I were not converted/reverted where my life would have led, but for sure... If my husband and I would have still crossed we would have been at the least friends. Our friendship is what got us together. Not our religion. Of course if he were not a Muslim we would not be married now, but still good friends. If I were not Muslim, then I am sure he would at some point and time introduced it to me.

I do my 5 daily, actually I do my best to do all the 5 required pillars of Islam. My husband was quite surprised by this... as many women in his country donnot pray on a regular or want anything to do with religion. They are just called "Muslims". And I like you, Private read alot. And reread.

And kinda off topic, I feel more religious growth ability here in the US then I did in Europe. More information and support and acceptance is availible to me. Not to say here in the US I have never felt people's prejudice against Muslims and Islam. But in here in the US there are laws to protect unlike in Europe.

In Algerie of course being a Muslim was very easy.... could practice more freely my religion without anyone saying anything to me. But there was a lack of "true" knowledge there. Much was mixed in with the national culture and local traditions. There were times it was somewhat uncomfortable being the only under 50 years old woman in the local masjid. But anyway that is a different story.

Not to wade into the catfight here sparked by the newest troll/sockpuppet...

... but to the OP, whatever you do, you shouldn't convert *for* anyone but God, because in my experience (friends converting for lovers, mostly), it usually just messes things up.

So if your boyfriend sparks your interest in Islam or Theravada Buddhism or whatever and you decide you want to convert out of your own interest, fine. If it's to try to impress the boy, well, think a little harder.

In response to the original question here, I have no plans on becoming muslim and he knows that. He doesn't have a problem with that. He does educate me though and I am always open to knew things.

In all your blithering and misfired attempts to be clever or witty, you miss the point entirely. It goes well beyond "grammar", but rather the content of her posts and piss-poor ability to articulate, and the arrogance and audacity contained therein. Clearly the irony of her proclaiming to be above needing to learn anything from her fiance, or any of his family, in light of her being a sub-literate cretin, is completely lost on you.

ah yes, so that explains your personal attacks on her. you must feel so justified in that! the fact remains you're just trying to stir things up. now park it......
