I am saying that I don't believe that many 1000's of websites rejected his resume because his name is Jose and accepted it because he changed it to Joe.

A friend of mine is in human resources .. She will post a job for 11/hr and get thousands of applications from all over the country. Just one position needed to be filled.

I have co workers here that I have said had to change their names in order to get hired. Tanisha with a Master's degree couldn't get in the front door. But Nicole could and got hired(middle name). Another co worker said he was grateful his name wasn't "ethnic" sounding. Sonja changed her last name from Perez to Schultz in order to see results.

While in china my wife heard a noise outside her window. A 15 year old girl jumped off the 4th or 5th floor to commit suicide ... She did not get into the top two high schools in her city.

I would like think the system narrows down the pool of possible candidates based on their qualifications, then a human goes through the chosen few to make calls to the applicant so conversations or scheduling for an interview can take place. If that's how it works then discrimination can occur and Joe may be preferred over José.

After the war WW1 and 2 for that matter folks from Europe that came here did not name their children old world names.They understood it would hold their children back. Perhaps they left that out in black history month. ...
