Hello, I have been using this website to see how things are with others cases. So I wanted to share my experience.

I was scheduled for interview on February 17th. In DC area. On the day government closed down due to snow storm so my interview was canceled. Next day my husband and I went in the USCIS office to see what I needed to do, lady at the front desk was very nice and told us the supervisor was not available so they could not let me in for the interview on the day and that I had to wait for a new interview notice to come in the mail. On February 18th I got email notification saying that my interview was rescheduled and I should wait for notice to come in the mail. 1 month later still have not gotten any notice. Only notice I received was letting me know that due to unforeseen weather conditions my interview was canceled and I will receive notice in the mail for a new interview. Online case said on February 18th my new interview was scheduled.

Last Friday I called USCIS and asked to check my status and let me know when was my interview scheduled, because I have not received notice and it has been more than 30 days. Representative made case inquiry. Today I received following notification - "your request to reschedule your interview was approved". - I have not asked for my interview to be rescheduled, I only asked to find out when was it scheduled. Now my case says in line for interview.... I am not sure what else to do but wait. Does anyone have any similar experience?

I passed my interview and civic test today at Holtsville, NY field office I just want to share my experience.

1. Interview was scheduled at 8:10 AM. Arrived at the field office around 7:40AM.

2. Went through security inspection then gave the appointment/interview letter to the receptionist.

3. A female officer called my name around 8:40AM. We walked to her office and before I sat on the chair, she asked me to raise my right hand to acknowledge that I will tell the truth.

4. Female officer asked for my green card and passport. She opened my file and ask me to verify some information (name and birthday).

5. Female office started the civic test and asked me these questions:

a. What is an amendment?

b. Who vetoes the bill?

c. What do we show loyalty to when we say the pledge of allegiance?

d. What is the supreme law of the land?

e. Who did the United States fight against in WWII?

f. What is the capital of New York?

6. I answered all the questions correctly. She wrote my answer after each of the questions.

7. Started reading and writing test. Officer asked me to write "Freedom of speech is one right on the bill".

8. Female officer went back to my file again then started browsing each page.

9. I signed several papers while she was verifying the information on my file (same questions on the N400 application form).

10. The female officer informed me that she will recommend my application to be approved and I should receive the schedule of the oath taking within two weeks. She did not ask me if I have any questions.

My interview process took only 15 minutes.

Yeah, maybe you'll get email notification by Friday this week. I think this Santa Ana office is the slowest one in the country.

I also got some good news. I received email notification yesterday that my interview was scheduled. Today I had an Info pass appointment, and a representative told me that my interview was scheduled on March 26th. Due to the fact that I never received the notice, they had to reschedule me and person today told me that my interview will be scheduled in May. I am deeply disappointed that I didn't receive notice and I missed my interview, (I have called several times the USCIS to find out when was my interview but they kept saying to me that my interview was not yet scheduled) but at least I am scheduled for a new date... Now waiting to find out when it is scheduled!

Finally. Interview Done. Now will be waiting for Oath.

Houston almost always asks you to wait after the interview so they can hand you the interview letter.

Did you have your interview late in the day? That may be why they're going to mail it.

If you don't have your oath date yet, Houston almost always schedules ceremonies for the 4th Wednesday of the month, but sometimes they'll hold it on the 3rd Wednesday. The next ceremony will be on 4/23 and the one after that will probably be on 5/28 (but possibly 5/21).

My Interview Time was at 7:35 AM. It was relatively short one. Lasted about 15 Min. I was done by 8:15. They asked me questions like Name of the National Anthem, What is Rule of Law, Ocean on the West Coast, Age for Voting, Speaker of the House and Supreme Law of the Land. He went through the paper work and asked me to confirm questions like Work etc. Then general questions where you will say No to all. After that he said I passed my interview and I will get my Oath details in the mail. That is about it.
