Hi everyone.

We are moving to Chapel Hill, NC and being the partner with the college degree (not that it helps much these days anyways) I have been the one seeking employment the most. I am wondering if anyone has any advice for my husband. I am a nervous wife...

He has a high school education

He has a strong accent

He has many many skills

We have been living in a very isolated location for so long that we don't know where to begin.

He wants to take classes to further his knowledge of HVAC and plumbing.

Which companies do you think are good for him? Any suggestions?

Only one I can suggest is UPS. I worked for them over the holidays and they are very good with their employees. It may not be in what he wants to do, it wasn't for me either, but if they offered me a job right now I'd take it. I enjoyed working for them.

I've also heard they are a good company to work for.

I think they start you out at a good level and you can work your way up.

I've heard from a few people it is a good company to stay with!

I do not know first hand though. Good luck.

Universities are GREAT to work for. So are hospitals. I work for the university, and the benefits are unbelievable. Pay may be a little lower than in for-profit companies, but it's still decent. Add job security to it - and you got a recipe for a successful career :)

Good luck! :)
