I don't really see why birth control would be a problem as long as it is in a clearly labeled prescription bottle with your name. If it's something over the counter you can buy in the Philippines, you might want to check out the U.S. Customs website and browse around for what you can and cannot bring into the U.S.

On our state department website, it tells us when travelling overseas to make sure that any prescription medications we bring need to be labeled with our name and if possible, bring a doctors note explaining what the medication is for. Most civilized and modern countries accept that as long as it's not something considered illegal to that particular country.

Put it in your CARRY ON luggage is my suggestion, this way instead of them randomly screening your check-in luggage and risking it getting lost or left behind due to a customs issue, if they check your bags and see it, you can explain to them in person immediately the medication and what it is for, and if needed, provide them with the doctors note to support your claim.

Remember, you're travelling to the U.S., I think at most, if it is a questionable item, they would just confiscate it. We have a pretty well established Drug Administration and as long as it's an approved item, you shouldn't have problems :)

Good luck!

From the US CBP's page on prescription medication (link):

Prescription medications should be in their original containers with the doctor's prescription printed on the container. It is advised that you travel with no more than personal use quantities, a rule of thumb is no more than a 90 day supply. If your medications or devices are not in their original containers, you must have a copy of your prescription with you or a letter from your doctor. A valid prescription or doctors note is required on all medication entering the U.S.

I always put prescription medications into my carry-on luggage when I fly. They are close at hand, I know where they are at all times, and there's no issue if my checked bags are lost or delayed.

Frankfurt's "steps" to DCF:

Step 2: Immigrant/Fiance(e) & K-Visa Applicant Checklist (PDF, from their Appointment & Interview page)
