Hey everyone,

My fiance has her interview on Sept 8 in Manila. Ive been hearing about the CFO but have seen nothing of it on the USEM website and am wondering if she has to do this before getting the visa. What is the CFO and what do we need to do. Its not on the list of required docs for the interview so were a little lost right now. Thanks!

Hi!!! Good luck on the interview!!!

Here are the possible websites you can check:

http://www.cfo.gov.ph/

http://www.mrspresson.com/immigration/k1-fiancee-visa-process/

The second link is the very detailed experience of the beneficiary... :)

Here is Hank's guide, its the K1 bible and many people would've been lost without it:

http://visaconnection-philippines.com/#

It is not on the list because its not a requirement to be interviewed, its a requirement of the Philippine Government for immigrating Filipinos.

You can do the CFO before or after the interview. So basically:

-> If you do CFO BEFORE interview, you have to go back to the CFO office to get your sticker on your passport

-> If you do CFO AFTER the interview and you have your VISA on hand, you can finish all in one day (considering the crazy amount of people going there everyday, this is better imo)

Either way, you wont be allowed to leave the country without it.

She can do CFO seminars after she got her visa in hand. Is just only 1 day to do it. No need to worry about is not required in her interview. But, it is important because she cant leave Philippines without CFO sticker.

Good luck for her interview.! Godbless

USEM does make mention of it on their website, just a small note, after all it has nothing to do with the visa process.

For details follow the flashing arrow below, then click the link. Once on the guide site click the CFO tab

I did my CFO a month after I got my visa. As long as she does it before leaving the country she should be fine.

Yes. They have several locations for pick up. It's the courier's locations, not the embassy.

Ok great. God, what would we do without you all? Also, at the end of the interview does the embassy give you the option of either picking up the visa in Manila instead of delivery?

Yes. If you are in a hurry for it, that wil save you anywhere from a day to three weeks depending on how remote your home is. My wife did that and saved about 2 weeks because she is in a remote province. Lots of work and travel for her to go to Manila, but well worth it.

CFO is run by Philippines, not USA. That is why USA does not mention it all that much. But you have to have it as Philippine govt will prevent you from boarding the plane to USA unless you comply. It is no big deal as you can sign up online, get it done in one day, and it only costs about $25 or so as I recall.

Just make sure you bring the necessary documents with you, as they are hell on those who don't bring the right docs.

Ok how bout this, im planning on keeping her at the hotel in Manila after the interview. How long till her visa was ready for pick up? And was it at the embassy or the courier?

What did you setup online when you did your account?

At the last window after the interview is where you can change delivery instructions.

You can not pick up the visa at the embassy, 2GO will deliver it, or you will pick it up at one of the 2GO locations
