on I-130 form question 15 about employer..

okay, I realize this is probably a dumb question, but I am asking the hive mind just to be sure....

the left column of questions (#1->14b) are about the Petitioner (USC). Then on the right hand side questions 1-14 are about the Relative (me)....then down at the bottom is question #15 on the right hand side... "Name & Address of Present Employer"

I am assuming they want the info about the USC, and not me (yet)..... is this the correct assumption?

The I-130 is the petition that the USC is to fill out, so if the question isn't directed specifically towards the alien relative then it should be asking about the USC. Glad you mentioned this; I just realized I filled mine out incorrectly since the question right above it is regarding my husband and it looks kind of like it runs into the question underneath.

oh this is interesting...... just noticed when I hover the cursor over the box it is asking for the relative's info.... ah-ha!

(we're doing all the paperwork together... while he's out visiting the County Clerks office to get copies of stuff, I'm getting this part of it started for him to come home and sign off on.... we're hoping to be able to have our initial package ready for filing early next week)

Okay I see what you're saying. No wonder people mess up filling these things out and everything's backed up....what a stupid way to word a question. Thanks for pointing that out!

And I just noticed why I originally filled it out with his info is because the questions on the right side pertain to the alien relative. I'll shut up now. But the cursor trick is still helpful.

Oh no! And that question #15 is just right next to question #14 which is about the petitioner (even though the right side is for the alien relative--my bad!). I filled it out wrong, I did not notice that something comes up when you hover over it I wonder if they will RFE or deny the petition now. I am so mad!

Guys, the question is in the side of the relative/beneficiary (non USC). Can you please clarify what you put there, because we put the beneficiary employment info (there is a question right below that taks about if the relative has ever been in the US)...

You did it correctly. If you hover on that question in the form, it actually says "relative's present employer." And since it is the petitioner filing the form, it is the beneficiary's info.

Edit: the information below that (question #16) is actually if the beneficiary has ever been under immigration proceedings, not if they have ever been in the US.

Q15 is actually about the relative but honestly, putting the petitioner's information in there isn't a big deal either. Putting either one won't get a denial etc.. The USCIS can figure it out from the G-325a.

I was hoping they would do that. However, when I got home a while ago, I checked the copies of the forms I sent in, and it was actually filled out correctly! I only had the electronic forms available earlier, and that was from when I started the process. I guess somewhere along the way I realized my mistake. So relieved!
