I've a very hard time try to figure out about Affidavit of support :(

I'm a US citizen. I didn't make enough income to support my husband.

I've about 30k in my bank acc. in US. I was wondering if I could count my assets in Thailand as well. I got some lands, stocks and bond

Forgot to mention that i'm filing for my sister in 2010. (The case shows initial review.) According to 2013 Federal poverty Guidelines, I'm not sure if i needed to count my assets as 5 times $ 19,388 (2-person household) or 5 times $24,413 (3-person household)?

Thank you so much.

Even though you may be going the DCF route, I'm going to ask that this be moved to the IR-1/CR-1 forum where more people will see it and you'll get better answers.

**** Moved to CR-1 forum for more answers ****

Your sister doesn;t count in your household yet, as she is not in the USA yet.

Foreign assets, it depends on the embassy. Most prefer assets to be US based, can you sell them and transfer to a US bank account?

I'm sorry guys but I got more question about Affidavit of support. I really need help on this!!!!!!!

I'm planning to sell a land in Thailand.

I brought the land since the end of 2013, but it's in a process of changing the name. The land isn't on my name yet. I should be able to change it to my name at the end of this year. Is it ok if I sell it right away? If not how long should I wait before I sell it?

Will $60,000 in US bank account be enough for 2-person household? I was reading and some people said that it's kind of tricky using Assets as Affidavit of support. It's depend on the Embassy. I'm not sure about Bangkok. Has anyone been in the same situation before? Thanks a lot!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for your answer :)

I was born in Thailand and become US citizen. I would like to file CR1 DCF for my spouse. All my family are in Thailand.

I didn't make enough income. I couldn't find a co sponsor. My only option right now is selling my assets in Thailand and transfer money to US bank acc. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated !!! It's getting frustrating for me.
