MY PETION EXPIRED- how to extend?

My petion will about to expired on august 14,2014 and i was scheduled for interview in us embassy on september 19,2014 for that was the only available date/slot now and at that time my petion expired already,will that be extended? How? Please help me

The Embassy has the ability to revalidate the petition if an interview has not yet taken place. Revalidation of petitions prior to an interview taking place is routine and happens frequently with no action needed on the part of the petitioner or beneficiary. Go to the interview on the scheduled date, you have nothing to worry about in regards to this date.

I interview expired on february 2014 but I had my interview on march , it isnt a problem the expiration date.

I emailed my consulate about this for my own peace of mind, as I was interviewing a month after petition expiration, and they said exactly what the others have posted:

Dear Melissa,

No worries. When you appear for your visa interview in July 2014, the consular officer will automatically revalidate your petition for a period of another 4 months.

Yeap, so long as you have an interview date set, the consulate should revalidate/extend your petition. No worries. The same happened to my wife, her petition expired in November, but her interview was not until January. The US Consulate simply extended her petition the day of the interview.
