My husband was approved for a CR1 last month and is already in United States. Yes very exciting!! we just learned that I am expecting a baby and we will love to bring his mother to meet her first grandchild. My question is?? can he invite her to come to USA with a tourist visa? they are from Dominican Republic.

A person in the US does not invite someone to the US with a tourist visa. The prospective visitor must apply for a tourist visa. The issuance is typically based upon how strong is the prospect that the visitor will return to their native country after the end of the visit. Please refer to the DOS Visitor Visa link for more information:

Additionally, review the pinned thread at the top of this forum page, Tourist Visa Guide.

Just reading what you wrote the answer is yes.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

He can invite her, but she must apply and qualify based on her strong ties to overcome the presumption that she intends to illegally immigrate to the US.

The reasons for returning home is what is important. The reasons for visiting the US is not important.

There is nothing that your husband can provide to help get her a tourist visa.
