my story about vaccination supplement ...

So, I asked earlier some couple of days ago, here on this forum, how I should do with a vaccination supplement; I got to know that I only need the info about my vaccinations I got at my full medical examination transfered to another form...

My husband (who really is good at explaining things well, and talking etc) called to a doctor near us - the only doctor near us; and we explained what I was needing.... I got an appointment, and we went there.

I mentioned many times, that hey, this is only the vaccination supplement right?! because I was wondering why they took me into a room, and the doctor started to ask these questions ; - do you smoke? - are you an alcoholic? - are you, or have you ever been insane?

- oh yes, vaccination supplement, yes, he said.

After the questions although, he looked some in my yellow vaccination card which I showed to him, and then started to look in my throat, ears and knocking on my knees and hands. Only a vaccination supplement? "oh yes...."

Then, he send me forward with the nurse, to go and pay my bill, and then continue my way to the lab for more test....

hmmm.... ok I thought....

So I went to the reception, to pay the bill - but my chin fell 3 floors down, when the nurse said; it will then be 300 something dollars!!!!

What?!?!?!

My husband came, and asked what it all is for, and said that it can not be that much for the vaccination supplement.

When he said that, they all looked surprised, and said "oh really!? She just needs the supplement???"

Grrrr - I was so mad! I had told them several of times, and wondered why they still are knocking on my knees etc!!

Anyways - they didnt really know what form to fill - so we went away from there....

We started calling around today to other doctors - and not until my husband talked with the 5th doctor on the list, they knew what we were talking about, and didnt insist on that I need a new medical exam.

We both got frustrated and angry - but we are glad we found this one doctor in OKC, who is going to do it for 25 dollars; and who knows what he is doing!

I hope you all have a lot better experience with finding a good doctor!

That is totally rediculous! Yes, hunting around it definetly key to getting the supplement only and not having to pay outta your ear for it too! I think we should start a list to show which doc we used that were reasonable! I only paid $5 for mine and it was Dr. Torres in Portland, OR

All these doctors should be reported to USCIS. What's the point of being a USCIS civil surgeon if you don't know their rules and how to proceed? We've heard TOO many people saying they were ripped off by these doctors.

Wow, what an experience.....I think that they were trying to rip you off.

How could he do a complete medical and not know how to fill the I-1693a out?? There should be some kin of protection for us....from these kind of Docs.

I'm glad you got out of there, and found it cheaper anyways. Good always prevails.

These civil surgeons have been given the right to steal by the U.S. government so it is very important that you shop around and ask lots of questions!

Oh I am so glad that we got the vaccination supplement done today! And it was so good that we called around, to see what doctor knew the best of this document, and who would not just jerk around with us.........trying to trick us.

We got in to the clinic quite late; about 1:30 pm... and the whole waiting room was full! The nurses in the reception said that we would have to wait for more than 1 hour...

but although, they called me in after about 15 mins after we came there, and gave me one tetanus shot, which they said I would need so that the doctor can sign and check it as approved... and the nurse said that she will try to sneak the paper to the doctor so that he can sign it earlier; so that I do not have to wait too long... that was so sweet!

So I waited another 15 mins after the shot, and then got an sealed envelope with the paper I needed.

The nurses was so sweet at the clinic! They had really a lot to do; but although, they were sweet and very pedagogic.
