Reporting good news finally! Received SMS and E-mail notifications for 4 forms (130, 485, 765, 131)! Lesson learned: Make sure I-485 does not have your foreign address regardless of where you actually live when you try to adjust status! Woo!

yES yES .... Mee too.. :)

received 4 SMS although i think two of the SMS were referring to I-130? where is my I-485? well, i just assumed it is still I-130 because it has to be approved first before i could adjust status?

anyone please enlighten?

Don't sweat it! If I'm guessing correctly, you sent in your I-130, I-485, I-765, and I-131 all together. You received 4 texts for all of those. As you filed I-130 and I-485 concurrently, they are judged together!

Good luck!

Wow! That's awesome.

You got me thinking on this one :) I do have a prior commitment on aug 1st (that's when they have scheduled my biometrics) and would greatly benefit from getting done earlier.

Did they ask you why you wanted a walk-in instead of the assigned date and time? I am attending a week long seminar that starts July 28th and was wondering if showing them my registration print out would be enough to get a walk-in?

Did you get there first thing in the morning?

I had only passport and the appointment letter. We wanted to explain why we were early and stuff, but they were super nice and said "oh, don;t explain anything, it's absolutely no problem." I was seriously shocked. Everything took maybe 10 minutes?

We got there around 9:30 and there was some people already waiting, so the office wasn't empty or anything.

I guess it depends where you go. I think everybody should try.. because.. why not? :)

Henmoh, I doubt you have to show them anything. I just walked in and said I got my letter while I was away - and was hoping to have this done sooner rather than later so I don't have to deal with planning it in. They didn't ask anything just wanted to see an ID, gave me a number and a form to fill out and I was seated. 2 minutes later a lady called me up, checked my form and my ID that I barely finished. She hi-lited my country of citizenship and birth and sent me back. On my way back to the seat, my number was called again and they took a photo + fingerprints. I was literally in-n-out in 10 minutes.

I guess it depends on how busy they are tho. I came in at 9:30..

I had only passport and the appointment letter. We wanted to explain why we were early and stuff, but they were super nice and said "oh, don;t explain anything, it's absolutely no problem." I was seriously shocked. Everything took maybe 10 minutes?

Thanks for the motivation folks!

Went for the biometrics appointment this morning. Waited for 2 hours and then got done in 10 minutes. The wait was long but worth the effort. Thanks much.

I'm wondering how much does it take to get the EAD card.. I know it's 90 days but.. I don;t know some people don;t get it at all, some of them wait, some of them want to speed the process..

What do you think? When can we expect EAD?

Tomentis,

I've requested to expedite my EAD/AP. I did it the same day as I did my biometrics walk-in. I'll keep you updated. :) But basically - you have to prove you really need it - like an offer letter and/or a letter from your new company stating that they will suffer financial loss if you can't start soon.

Anywho, it seems that we are not too far apart with filing and biometrics walk-in's. Will be fun to see how it moves along for us. :)

Yeah, we were thinking about expedite.. I have to say that I already started to apply for jobs. A job offer should be sufficient, right? How can you do it? Can you give me some advice?

And I really really hope that will be FUN :)

I'm reading other topics.. some people got their EADs pretty quickly, some of them didn't get them at all, some just got green card, some got GC without an interview. It's really confusing. Every single case is sooo different.

We are still afraid of RFE... My wife didn't earn much in 2013, but right now she has a stable, full time job and earns more than enough... but we are still nervous.

If you included all supporting documents and your wife meets the criteria to be a sponsor - you shouldn't get an RFE for that.

I called customer service and requested expedite EAD/AP. They said someone will get back to me within 5 business day (last day is today). I have not supplied anything yet - but planning on sending in my new job offer. We'll see what they think about me working for my current employer. I am planning on contacting my local congressman if I don't hear back today.

I did expedite it right away. My I-485 is still in Acceptance status. Without any proof of you not working causing financial difficulties for you two - it can be hard to expedite. I would give it a shot tho.. :)

Well I could give that proof but I'm afraid that If I started complaining that we don't have enough money, our financial stability would be questionable? Well, of course it would be better for us, for everybody to be honest, for me just to start working, Im just concern if they gonna question affidavit of support? Wouldn't that those two things related somehow?

Or I'm terribly wrong and missing something? :D
