Hi All,

I have applied for F2A category and my PD is June 2012. My wife is my sponser.

But now my wife is a citizen of US. We have alreay sent a request to NVC to upgrade our case and we received a reply that it is under review.

Now the problem is we are expecting the interview date to be held in August 2014. and planning to travel to US on november 2014 but my passport is expiring on 09 April 2015. So my question is will i be able to travel as planned or i need to renew my passport, as the date for expiry of my passport is less than 6 months?

If i will give it now for renewal it will take more than 3 months to renew as i am currently in UAE and i am citizen of Pakistan.

Salaam noor why don't you ask someone back home and pay extra money to expedite I am sure it won't take long!!!!

I got to know that i can get it within 1 month in UAE.

ok now one more query, if i renew it before my interview, do i need to inform NVC or the Embassy about my new passport?will they make any issue?

You bring the new passport to interview.

You have over a year left on the passport, you should be fine to travel to the USA with that if you don't want to renew right away, but of course you may want it renewed to make travelling easier in the future.
