How we met

Hey,

I first met my fiance online last year. I came to America In August 2006 with some friends and made a trip to meet him for a few days to see if we liked each other. Since then our relationship has grown through talking online etc. I returned to America in December to visit him for the holidays and since extended my trip as our relationship has bloomed. He proposed to me on New Years day and I accepted.

We are now preparing to start the K1 Visa process. However, when entering the U.S. this December I told immigration that I had met him at a bar in August instead of initially online. I am now worried that this will effect my chances of getting the K1 Visa, as I don't know if the exact details of my meeting my Fiance were recorded at immirgation. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Any information would be helpful.

I wouldn't worry too much about that small detail. It is always best to tell the truth to the border officers, so from now on, just make sure you answer only what asked, and as briefly as possible.

Make sure you are always truthful when filling out your immigration applications, etc.

Though you could look at it technically too. Did you technically have your first face to face at a bar? Don't stress about it but be honest, especially in your interview when they ask how you met.

Don't think I would worry about that. But I would make sure that I am as honest as can be from here on out.

I dunno why but I feel like giggling when I read this.

But anyways, don't worry, and like others said, be honest. Someone said the interviewer could read your expressions, your reactions, body languages, eyes etc.... (ya know like...when you look to the upper left when you're answering means you're recalling memories, and if you look to the other way means you're making some lies.....haha) they might know if you lie. As long as you're telling the truth, there will be no problems.
