Hi every one this is my first post here and I hope someone can help me and answer some of my questions.

I am a british citizen my boyfriend is a US citizen he is also in the navy. He's currently deployed in Japan but coming back to the US in a few months, I am currently in the UK. We met back in 2010 when I was in California, we have always had feelings for each other however because obviously back then I wasn't staying in the country we did not perssue a relationship. We lost contact and I had a child with someone else who is no longer in mine and my sons lives. We recently found each other again YAY for facebook and the feelings for each other were more intense than ever before as we're both older and know what we want.We decided that our feelings were too strong to ignore, so we got into an online relationship and everything has been wonderful,we skype every day, he loves my son as his own and he has introduced me to his whole family albiet online but still. Once he is back I want myself and my son to go over to him but everything is so confusing especially since he is in the military it makes everything so much more complicated! He had originally wanted to get an apartment off base and have us live together, he's even talked about marriage but obviously hasn't proposed but as we've discovered unless we are married there is a huge chance the navy won't let him live off base. We've talked about base housing again we cannot get unless we are obviously married. I swear the military force people to tie the knott! We then began talking about me coming over with my son and we stay in a hotel on base for 2 months while we figure stuff out as he thinks things are soooooo easy -.- I've already told him I don't think we'd even be able to get married without the navy giving permission

Sorry for the ramble but now my questions!!

Visas

Because we haven't physically met up in person in over two years I know I cannot apply for a fiance visa so that leaves the visa waiver program and the 6 month visa which I could possibly be denied for whatever reason but as marriage isn't pre meditated as it's down to him to propose LOL say I came on the VWP and did get married before the 90 days are up would I be able to apply for something to be able to stay or would I still have to leave? If I actually managed to obtain a 6 month visa if we got married would the same apply? Is pregnancy considered *we've talked about possibly trying

Can anyone make any sense of this? I would love to hear success stories!

But there isn't intention to stay I am asking if it is possible to change status from a VWP if my boyfriend decided to propose and we got married. I am prepared to leave if need be but I want to know what the options are

Right now, these are your options:

  • Fulfill the in-person meeting requirement for the fiancée visa and file for it after that requirement is met.
  • Get married and then file for the appropriate visa
