Hello, The NVC sent my petition to Buenos Aires on December 21st. I am trying to wait patiently, but it has been 25 days since it got sent off, and I am sure that the embassy has received the approved petition. I have sent three emails, one a week, asking for them to tell me something, but they have not written me back yet. And nothing has appeared at my fiance's doorstep either. How can I be assured that the petition has arrived and that they are preparing the packet three to send to me?

Thankyou

You can call the Dept. of State in the US at 202-663-1225, press 1, then 0, then 0. Hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. They can tell you the current status of your case and if you have been scheduled an interview date, and whether packet 3 or 4 is on the way to you.

In our case, I would telephone the DOS each Monday morning shortly after they opened for business. I would ask them the status of the case. The ask me for the, in my case GUZ#, and my fiance's name and birthdate. They would check the computer and let me know. At first the reps would tell me it can take up to 90 days for the package to reach the consulate and to be patient.

The happiest day for me was when I called DOS and they told me Rong's interview date was scheduled for Feb 8th, 2007. I told the man on the other end of the phone that I was ready to do cartwheels down the hallway!

So, my advice is to call the DOS once each week and ask for status of your case. Hope you get your interview date quickly! :)
