Hello, my interview is coming up on the 28th. In the letter says that me and my wife should bring our birth certificates. The thing is that my lawyer sent my original translated birth certificate by mistake, should I just bring a copy? And as for my wife we didn't send her birth certificate with the application as we sent the naturalization certificate. Should she bring her venezuelan birth certificate or with the US passport is ok?

At our interview the IO asked to see my original birth certificate as we sent in copies. All other documents where we had sent in originals she was fine with. If you sent the original - they has it already in your file. Ask to get it back and supply them with a copy instead. I told them we had my wifes birth certificate but she said passport is enough for my wife.

You are saying "your original translated". Is that an original that was translated by the issuer or is it the original translation of the original certificate? They want the ORIGINAL certificate and a translation. If both are the same - that's fine, but if not - they will require to see you original birth certificate. I had a hard time finding mine since it was issued when I was born 35years ago..

They will have all the documents you submitted, the officer will probably think is a copy then you can tell them is the original. If you have a copy somewhere take with you so you can get the original back, otherwise the officer will have to leave his office to make copies or he will just keep the original. They never asked for my husband's birth certificate just the passport but he was born in the US. I would bring her birth certificate with translation just in case. Good luck!

I had my original certificate translated and that what was sent. I have a copy. I will ask the officer to give it back to me and hand her the copy I have.

Im still waiting for interview to be scheduled. My local office is OKC Oklahoma. The website shows that they are processing I485 from November 2013........ I guess im in for a looooooong wait.

I had my interview 10/16 and was also approved on the spot. I received the text/email notifications of card production right after the interview, and the interviewer gave me an approval letter. They asked to see my passport, my husband (USC)'s driver license and my AP/EAD card. They didn't want any of the other (many) documents I had taken.

I wonder why some people get approval on the spot and some don't. It must be that they're interviewed by the field office supervisor? I was told that there are no approvals on the spot anymore. Either way - lol, great news! My card was mailed today so you're will probably be mailed tomorrow or Thursday. You should have it before the weekend.

Does anyone know how often the processing times for a local office is updated? Okc is showing updated 10/7/14 that as of 8/31 they are processing Nov 2013........

Congrats! Got mine yesterday too! Not crazy about my photo, I knew it would be the same as the EAD and it bothers me they don't spell out your middle name since I go by it . Apart from that it's beautiful! How do you know you are eligible to ROC in July 2016? I have been wondering about that

Wow, I'm excited to see so much good news on here! Congrats to rerto, kcros, genddob, tdck83 and anyone else I may have missed.

I haven't checked in here in awhile but we have our interview on Tuesday. I'm nervous about our evidence. We're still fairly young and we both spent most of our 20's traveling so we haven't amassed much as far as assets, ie property, cars, etc that we can both have our names on. We also are temporarily living with my parents so no joint lease or utilities. We sent joint bank account info with our initial application and will bring proof of a joint health insurance plan to the interview but that's it as far as primary evidence (although we have a lot of secondary evidence). We also never got his original birth certificate sent over as we were worried about it getting lost and once it's lost it's lost forever. The interview letter only said to bring his birth certificate, not original birth certificate, but what I'm reading here makes me nervous.
