I just gave her the link that Hank gave me. She didn't even want to pay the $160 visa fee. LOL

She and aunt can always go the K1 route, kung meron mauuto si tita na USC para kay pamangkin. Boom! :jest::jest::jest:

JayAnn, I think you have helped her enough with the link and something she could have easily googled herself. That's all she needs to know. In case she ask more questions, tell her to read on the USEM webpage. If they have spare cash, then by all means, why not? Let her experience it upfront.

i guess she was too lazy to do it herself and she always goes to my husband for help. she thinks that a tourist visa is simalar to a k1 that you will get approved if there is doctors note proving her grandma needs help. funny she is like excited to leave pinas already.

Grandma would do better to have your husband fly there and travel back with her.... once he has his GC.

Hank question for you. Hoping you can help. How soon can you file for citizenship when married to a USC? Does tne 2yr conditional count as being here for 3yrs or will the 3yrs only count once my husband gets his 10yr GC?

2 conditional green card time counts.

  • You have been a permanent resident for 3 years or more and meet all eligibility requirements to file as a spouse of a U.S. citizen, please visit our Naturalization for Spouses of U.S. Citizens page for more information.

Thanks Hank. I thought that the 3 years would count once you get the 10 year GC. :)

The conditional green card is a permanent residence card, so those two years count also.
