got my I-485 approval notice in the mail today. Online status is still on "Decision" however on the day of the interview, it was on "Card Production" but kept changing multiple times throughout that day. Just waiting for the card to be mailed... sitting here reminiscing... doesn't it feel so relaxing just knowing u have PR status. No more visa renewals, paying hefty tuition fees for school out of pocket and trying to stick with stringent laws that non-immigrants must adhere to. As a matter of fact, I already applied for financial aid haha

Are you the same person who posted a long story about having entered on a visa but had been out of status for many years and was finally able to apply to adjust status after being married?

Is this aid or federal loan (FAFSA) that you mentioned?

Check my timeline for K-1 visa & AOS details

So I was never out of status at anytime... and yeah ur right, it's the FAFSA I meant. Don't think I'll be taking out any kinda federal loan for school as of yet, the debt stats for student loans are scary

Your authorized stay as a student is co-terminus with your I-20, so when your I-20 ran out, you were already out of status even if your visa was unexpired. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Either ways I already put in my AOS paperwork before my I-20 ran out moreover F-1 get 90days after the end date on the I-120 to leave/remain and still be in legal status. After that 90days period and u remain without switching schools or depart the US that's when ur really out of status and accumulate unlawful presence.... I think I didn't explain it correctly, my original I-20 expired last year, I got an extension which expired few weeks after I filed for AOS this year. Makes sense now?

You didn't mention earlier that you filed for an extension which subsequently got approved. Also just as an FYI, F-1 students may go out of status but no unlawful presence accumulates unless you undergo removal proceedings and an immigration judge orders deportation and you don't leave or if you applied for an immigration benefit (I-20 extension, change of status, adjustment of status, etc...) but got denied and then you didn't leave. That's the applicable law for F-1 students with duration of status on the I-94.

We submitted AOS paperwork on 6/23/14

We received EAD/AP combo card on 9/5/14

After doing biometrics on 7/23/14, we've not heard a thing about the green card.

No interview notices. Nothing.

Status shows "Acceptance".

Application is at the Nebraska Service Center.

Should we be doing something at this point, or is this still within typical time frames?

Thanks.

Our NOAs are 3 days apart and I got my combo card a week before but AOS is stuck at August when we replied to their RFE. I think all we can do is wait...

You could try calling USCIS, but I'm not sure it'd change anything.

Congratulations! Our interview is Oct 10th, can't wait.

Funny thing, my international advisor from CUNY called me and asked what was going on with my registration. this is my last semester, and I'm therefor registered for less than 12 credits. She's freaking out because one form immigration is coming to do an audit and she's afraid my case will be pulled. I never fell out of status, so it would be just "AWESOME" if I ran into trouble now ... tsk!

And btw, FAFSA ... You're eligible for that?!

AOS from F-1, maintaining status

August 2010 was introduced to each other during a visit in NY.
01/14/2012: Arrived at JFK with F-1 visa with the intention of studying for three years, and then do OPT. Intention was not to get married!
Yet, almost five semesters as a full-time international student later he proposed ...

04/07/2014: Married in Queens, NY

06/26/2014: I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131 and supporting documents sent to Chicago Lockbox via USPS Priority.

06/30/2014: USPS states delivery happened 6:50 am.

07/07/2014: Received NOA of I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765 dated 07/02. --- What a great 3-month anniversary gift!

07/15/2014: Received Biometrics appointment scheduled 07/31, in Long Island City.

07/31/2014: Biometrics done. Process took 45 minutes. 99% was waiting time. Awesome people working there. Good experience!

08/06/2014: Case i-485 updated to Testing & Interview on uscis.gov - - Yay!

08/29/2014: Updates on I-765, card in production as well as I-131.

09/04/2014: Update on I-485, interview scheduled for October 10th, 2014.
09/08/2014: Received combo-card. Went straight to Social Security office to get SSN.
09/15/2014: Received Social security card in mail.
10/10/2014: Interview at Long Island City. Took no more than 10 minutes. Was simple, normal questions. Was approved on spot.

ROC

10/07/2016: USPS stated I-751 was delivered. Also sent in fee waiver request.
10/19/2016: Got everything back, with denied fee waiver. They misspelled my name. Makes me wonder if they even read my application. My name is all over the papers.
10/25/2016: Sent in ROC (I-751) again, with USPS.

10/29/2016: I-751 delivered again.
11/2/2016: Checks cashed
12/16/2016: Biometrics done in LIC, Queens.
