Mis-demeanor, or feloney? Makes a difference. Any jail time? The value of the thefted item(s)?

Need more info., hope it was a small incident for your sake, will amount to little to nothing with proper documentation.

Good luck!

They are looking for domestic violence, multiple drunk driving arrests, drugs, crimes or any kind of violence, or the amount of the theft.

Really, depends on the country, and their laws.

Many other countries do not distinguish between felony and misdemeanor.

If the police record has a conviction for theft, it can be a problem for immigration.

In many places however if the theft charge was "equivalent" to a misdemeanor (i.e, not a serious charge even if not technically called a misdemeanor) one can apply to have it expunged under certain circumstances, and then be able to present a clean police record. May take time to do this of course.

It was 3 days in a police station and the amount of the theft was 10,000 paso or around 229 USD. The charge was qualified theft. I have no idea if that is a felony or a MIS-Demeanor, the case was dismissed and there is no record on her NBI Clearance for it. So what do we do?

There is no such thing as expungement for immigration purposes. OP needs to disclose it and deal with the consequences.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

I guess I will be smart and higher a lawyer just in case...like I said the case was completely dismissed and the fine was returned to my wife and she was found not quilty by the court so that means that she was not CONVICTED right ?
