I am looking forward to engaging Ewok on these issues and explain the unfairness and how and ways to fix these problems so we don't have this stuff happening again. Ewok is willing to engage us on these issues too. I wanted to say that I have asked for at least person to be unbanned as a show of good faith on their part though and asked for Penny. Since this is not my issue only but all of ours I will go ahead and engage them and start the process. I will leave it up to y'all though. I was making that demand on my own without the rest of our input. I will say in my defense that I have up to now engaged with them on the issues that we all have expressed so far only and will continue to do so.

So should I drop the demand or hang tough? I kinda need to know because this thread has to be mod nuked soon.

I think you're doing an admirable thing here, but in my time here I don't recall ever seeing a banning overturned. Maybe someone else can chime in here. We have sent pm's to Ewok, used the contact form, started threads and polls and it came up as nothing. The only users who was banned and came back, and not by pardon, was Eric. He probably came back 100 times or so and got banned after 2 or three posts each time., usually talking about how big his dong was. For some reason, they let him stay the last time. Of course they pretended that they didn't know it was him etc. It seems that even when the whole community supports a reinstatement, it falls on deaf ears. Maybe this time it will be different, who knows?

Personally I am curious as to how many and what types of warnings our most recently banned members had before they were banned. Were they told that one more strike and they were out? Had they been warned the last few times they were suspended that they were entering the final moderation process? Is there still a final moderation process? I know when Kip got banned, he knew ahead of time that one more offense and that was it. Even when they put you in the final moderation process, you still had a few chances before perma-ban. And you had to have many violations and suspensions before you got put in final moderation. What's the process today? I honestly have no idea. In the old days there were ample warnings. Today?

There are times I have used the report button right after a Mod action against me, to point out how what they take actions about, happens all the time.

I don't see a need for a "second tier" forum or more rules or anything.

The problem as I see it is that the modding is inconsistent. The new moderators lack context to decide what should be removed or not, because they don't want to read the whole thread, and cherry pick one post based on whims or to appease whoever reported it. A report does not require action, it does require a check that should come down to mods who know how to call things when they see it.

The TOS, and any "law" is purposefully pliable and non distinct, how can someone define emotions or responses? Some new mods are obsessed with the letter of the law, instead of the spirit of the law. There is no need to read the TOS daily, or make some giant list. When someone has gone too far should be fairly obvious. The problem is that some mods lack the ability or the patience to explain their reasoning.

Another problem I see is that the new mods are happy to take the easy way out and say something is locked for "bickering" or "drama," when they should have the balls to say something is locked for personal attacks, racism, etc.

I think people are perfectly able to have polarized adult conversations without resorting to name calling, racism, or throwing in pornography for fun.

I think they should make me a mod. I'll bet the power would go straight to my head and I'd start suspending you guys right and left.

I think name calling is ok when someone deserves it.
