Question about CBP and POE - Do I need a list of my belongings?

Hi everyone! I'll be flying out of the Philippines together with my fiancé on July 24th on a K1 Visa. Our connecting flight is in Vancouver before we arrive in our destination which is in Chicago.

My question is, do I need to make a list of all the things I have with me for the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Canada? And am I gonna get questioned again when I arrive in Chicago being under a K1 Visa?

No list of your things is necessary for CBP.

Vancouver will be your POE, so no additional immigration questioning upon arrival in Chicago.

I know there might be a different line for US Citizens and a different one for people who are migrating to the US. Are we allowed to go in line together? And also, are we gonna be asked to go in a different room for further questioning or this is case to case basis?

One is allowed to be in the US Citizens immigration line with their fiancee or spouse.

Having to endure a Secondary Inspection is done on a case-by-case basis for whatever reason(s) a CBP officer decides it is warranted. That is not something you should be concerned with really.

Just to give an update: my POE was in Chicago. I thought it was in Vancouver but the officer in Vancouver did not know what to do with my K1 visa and there was no US CBP there in Vancouver when we arrived 4:15 pm. Arrived in Chicago and handed the officer my K1 visa and my sealed brown envelope. All done in 10 minutes.

my Fiance and I are traveling from Lima to Salt Lake City. Her POE will be in Atlanta. So we can pass through immigrations together? and do we need to bring anything other than her passport, sealed envelope, and vaccination records?

Yes, you can go through the line together. You just need the passport with visa inside and the sealed envelope. Do not need to show proof of vaccinations at the POE. All that is in the sealed envelope anyway.

Hi,

I see on your timeline that there was only 3-day gap between when your visa was on hand and the date you attended the CFO seminar. My fiance does not yet have her visa but we hope to get it in the next week, Can I schedule the CFO appointment AFTER she has her visa on hand? I hope we can get an open slot right away because I have already made my travel plans to pick her up in Manila.

Do you recommend that I schedule the CFO seminar now, before she actually has her visa on hand? I have a tight deadline so I hope there are no issues with her paperwork once she completes the seminar. Thanks for your help.
