Well I'm part of a Finnish-American couple but I've lived in the States since 1991 so not going through any of the K-1 or other processes anymore... But I noticed your fiance lives in Tampere and that's where I was born and raised. Did you ever get to eat Mustamakkara? LOL!!!!

Oh that is just wonderful Look at it this way though, at least you are at CSC where they have been processing applications quite fast. We are stuck at TSC where they are backlogged and still working on November of last year. It is a very intense wait though so I know how you feel when you have absolutely no idea when your time will come. Where in Finland do you reside at? And yes I know what you mean about reading about what is happening and such, especially on here and begins to panic and reports things back to my fiance. I have a bad habit of that myself lol

Oh that is just wonderful! I absolutely love Tampere when I have visited and am so excited to go back and enjoy it again!!! I noticed that you recently had your Oath Ceremony!!!!! Congratulations to you on that How does it feel to be a full fledge American Citizen now? It's funny that you mention that because my Fiance, that was there first thing she was dying to have me try there is fresh black sausage. Now I want you to know that it took a lot of courage and staring at this black thing in front of me before I was able to work up the nerve to bite into it lol. I just have to say that it is not something I would go out of my way to eat lmao, as it was extremely different to my taste and yeah I will just leave it as that haha. Also another thing that my fiance laughed horribly at. Your salty black liquorice...... all I can say to that is NASTY lol. Spit it right out lol

The Citizenship is awesome and the Oath ceremony itself was very moving. I still cheer for Finnish athletes and so on.

Some of the traditional foods are strange and I was never a fan of that sausage myself. Mostly I've offered it to my husband as a gag (literally) when we visited Tampere. The salty licorice on the other hand is a hard habit to shake. So I get my fix from an American online store that actually sells German goodies but they have other European stuff too. And the chocolates.. And the authentic rye sourdough bread. Good luck to both of you!

Yes, we are lucky to be at CSC, so I guess I shouldn't really complain about how long the wait is, because for many people it's even longer. But I can't help it, it still feels like it's been forever since we got our NOA1. I live in the eastern part of Finland.. Sucks though that I'm so far away from Helsinki, not looking forward to the costs of my trips to the interview and medical...

Good luck with your process, hopefully we will both get our NOA2's soon

Yes, we are lucky to be at CSC, so I guess I shouldn't really complain about how long the wait is, because for many people it's even longer. lol I can't stand when my fiance eats that candy either and she eats it like it's nothing. I put it in my mouth and instantly I spit it right out the salt is like so powerful. haha she does get a kick out of it when I am feeling daring again to try it to see if I can handle it but still am unable to bear the strong salt taste lol. And good luck with your process as well, I love hearing from new Finn and American Couples

Oh wonderful I loved Helsinki when I flew in there the few times I went to see my fiance, it is such a beautiful place! Yes, at least you won't have to travel very far since you are right there already which is a great thing, whereas my fiance will have to take a train 2 hours to get there each time! I hope your journey goes good for you both

To the ones who don't speak finnish, I was just explaining what she'll need to send her fiance for him to send the USCIS with the petition. I also have good news! Our case was approved on Friday, so we are moving along It seems we really were lucky to be at CSC. I hope TSC will start moving faster too and all you guys will be approved soon too
