I am shocked that we have been given a 221g for insufficient income. I was only a couple thousand dollars short and had over hundred thousand in savings. I was told I need proof of additional income or savings. Would 4000 a month from a trust be considered "income"? I think I'm going to have the attorney provide proof of the Trust as well as what my monthly income is. Also, should I resubmit my savings that the officer gave back? Lastly, is the officer who gave me the 221g going to make the final decision on my case? I hope not! I'm not only in a state of disbelief I'm also worried that we will be refused. The uncertainty and arbitrary nature of this process is just painful.

They asked for proof of the income. Follow the instructions and send copies of your account statements from the trust and show the deposits to your account. I know a woman that used only her trust money for the affidavit and got approved ( sadly she married an abuser and the marriage died quickly )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I was told they are more interested in future earnings. I'm going to call the attorney and have him show proof of income as well as how much is in the Trust itself. I did show them deposits into the account but it wasn't labeled as income. I'm just sick about this. I'm worried that we could ultimately be refused. They had absolutely no reason to give us this 221g. as I had proof of assets that far exceeded the requirements. Maybe we will be refused and/or it could take months to resolve this. Meanwhile my fiancee is stuck in the Philippines after leaving her job in Hong Kong. I feel gutted.

O my, this is very simple...Take a copy of your account statements, after the deposits go in... I was off like 700.00, the problem is they only judge by taxable income, But you can add assets as well...I turned in the titles and tax value of my vehicles as well as my bank statements... instant approval! Good Luck, its a pain to wait, but it is a simple fix. :)

we have the same case.my interview was june 10 2014.i was given 221g because my husband's annual salary last year didn't reach the required amount because he was living with me here in the Philippines from Dec 2012 to Sept2013 so he just started working Nov2013.so we are asked to find co-sponsor or send them my husband's financial sustainability evidence like his latest payslips and assets.the nvc didn't advice us about that which is they are supposed to be doing coz we paid them for reviewing our documents.yesterday I sent the docs they needed via 2go.they said tomorrow it will be deliver to the embassy...don't lose hope coz our case will ony be terminated if we didn't response for a year.as long as we response to what they want we have the chance to get it done...I will keep u posted about how long my AP will take.
