RFEs during Adjustment of Status

Hey all,

I am curious about receiving an RFE during the AOS period. During what time of the AOS process typically would an RFE be received? We filed the paperwork on our own (without lawyer -- unlike when we did the original K-1 Application), and just received the 3 receipts for the paperwork filed. And today, we received the biometrics appointment. If there was an RFE for anything we sent in, would we have received it BEFORE we received the biometrics appointment?

I am only asking because we received an RFE during our original K-1 application, and since we were working with a lawyer, we had her to ask all the questions of!

So did we. Just because they give the biometrics appt doesn't mean you won't receive an RFE later. I know you were hoping to be "safe" (so was I).

I received an RFE before I went in for biometrics and a second RFE after biometrics.

I've got my biometrics on Monday, got an email to say I've got an RFE today

You can get an RFE at any time - before or after the biometrics, even at the interview (if you have one). The only time you can be sure you don't have an RFE on the way is when you get your approval.

Okay, thanks for letting me know! Of course I hope we don't get an RFE but realistically we know it's possible.

For those of you who got RFEs during the Adjustment of Status phase, what were the RFEs for?
