My mother who has ssa is my cosponsor but I do not know what to put on question 9 there is only a. employed b. self employed c. retired from____ and D. unemployed from______ which should i put?

Also on question 11 it asks about federal taxes filed. since she doesn't need to file taxes what should i put there?

Is she retired? No longer working? why is she collected SSA for retirement, or what that will drive what you check.

If she wasn't required to file income taxes just write it in a simple coverletter why and the 3 years 2013, 2012, 2011 she didn't and explain.

she got hurt on the job like 15 years ago. so she was collecting disability up until this year it changed to ssa.

I would put retired since she will not be working again in life. Looks better than a co-sponsor being unemployed don;t you think.

Please clarify what you mean by SSA. Do you mean SSDI? (Social Security Disability Income) or something else?

she had ssdi but this year it switch to ssa. guess she got to retirement age and it switched.

OK. That's clear enough. It would seem you are combining income with your mother, because you live in the same house. You state her current income as her monthly Social Security check times 12. In the tax section, hand write, "Not required to file. All income is Social Security Retirement benefit. You will need evidence of her income. Three or four bank statements with the Social Security deposits highlighted should do nicely.

Unless you live in the same house, you cannot combine income and use the I-864a for your mother though. Make sure to include evidence of her US Citizenship. That would be a copy of her passport or photocopy of certified copy of her US birth certificate.

Evidence you two live at the same address is needed two. A copy of her driver license will do for that.
