Hello everyone,

I have an IR-1 visa for the USA. I just want to ask if I want to go to mexico and canada , do I need a visa for it? Will my passport and greencard enough for me to present to the immigration people of those countries? I will really appreciate any infos regarding this.

I just showed the officer my passport and GC, and off we go across the border to Canada :D

Never been to Mexico though, so not sure what you need.

Me- Indonesia & hubby - US

married in Vancouver, Canada

USCIS-free for 10 years !

Never been to Mexico though, so not sure what you need.

All Green Card holders can visit Canada without visa (by contrast, most Canada PR's do need explicit B2 visas to visit US). For information on Mexico, you'd better visit the website(s) of its embassy/consulates in US (or CALL them).

2009/07/03 10-year GC received; last 0.5 done!

2009/11/16 My 46TH birthday, Pras N-400 approved

2010/03/18 Pras' swear-in

But what do they mean by "Tourist Card/FMT form issued by airlines"???

Visa not required for a touristic stay of max. 180 days,

provided holding:

- proof of residence; and

- Tourist Card/FMT form issued by airlines (free of charge)

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

I have been to Mexico, but on AP. Did not need a Visa, but check on the Mexican Consulate site as to what you need. Seem to recollect it was pretty comprehensive.
