I have all documents for my spouse except any proof of bona fide marriage. Is there any exception or other additional documents that I can submit? Am I going to face any trouble from embassy if I will not show them proof of bona fide marriage?

Well.. Yes you will be in big trouble if you do not show proof of a bonified marriage.... You don't have any call logs or Skype logs where you talk, plane tickets, passport stamps showing you visit and have spent time together, photos together and with family showing you are a real couple or have an insurance policy with each other as beneficiary? If you cannot prove you have a real marriage, how do you expect them to issue you a spouse visa ?

You need to review and study your countries Consulate interview reviews and see what others have presented.

India isn't place where you can present empty handed.

Thank You So Much Christeen,

I am sorry that I have not specified about my info. I do have proof of real marriage such as, wedding invitation cards, photographs, honeymoon tickets & photographs, & moreover we been talking to each other on Skype & FB for 2 years before our wedding. However, when I see the checklist of bonafied marriage, it was written as joint account in bank or joint property, or birth certificate of child born from both of us. That is anything in as a joint property. So am I still on right track for proof of bonafied marriage or not?

Yes, you are. Co-mingling finances are not expected from couples living apart in different countries.

Ok... Then you do have proof... As sperKing said, co-mingling of finances is not expected of couples who live apart... It is difficult to impossible to really co-mingle financials before they arrive, this is understood and they are just examples of things you CAN use, not what you MUST use. Concentrate on what you can prove... And you seem to be heading in the right direction.

Thank You Sooooo much for helping me out. :) Now I am all tension free and feeling more confidence about sending my documents.

One more question is how long is the total process is going to take? What other forms US embassy require? My work will start within 2 weeks and I would like to fill out all the forms require in advance so I only need to send them. Thank you once again :)

ohhh nooo it will really take 12 to 15 months? :(

I thought it might take up to 6 months only. But thanks anyway for replying :)

6 months just at USCIS if you are lucky. You still have 2 to 3 months at NVC. Than you wait 1 o 3 months for interview. So 12 to 15 months is a good estimate.

The operative word is "evidence" not "proof". Don't consider the two synonyms. There are lots of kinds of evidence of bona fide marriage. Some are mentioned in the I-130 instructions and some fall under "other". You would be foolish not to include some.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
