Hello your thoughts please on weather I need to be using a visa expert like tn visa,

I don't feel like I need too, but at the same time, I don't want to do anything that could cost me more time.

your thoughts and experience is much appreciated please, thanks

This is a DIY site, most people here do not use a visa prep service or lawyer.

Using one can be a good idea if your case is complicated, or if you are just really bad with filling out detailed forms, but it tends to slow the process down.

Penguin_ie for your reply, I have done all my application nz end for nz visas and feel like I can do it all myself US end as well, but just read some horror stories and wondered. But thanks I fill out forms etc all the time, I have done alot of homework on it all, and feel confident I can do, but just wanted to see if anyone does it with out a lawyer now or not. So thanks for your reply :)

hey paradise, some months ago I got a quote from a lawyer that was a friend of friend, they wanted $3000 up front plus filing fees

have found this site, and some members in particular so very very helpful

if you go through step by step and double check think you will be ok, so many people seem to have done it themselves

that being said, if your things are complex would be good to have aty

also if you are time poor maybe use an aty

just some thoughts good luck whatever you decide and I hope you get some more feedback to the pros and cons

No information is contained in your post except that you are a human, bringing a spouse from New Zealand. How could anybody form an opinion on YOUR needs, with so little information?

Are you able and willing to study carefully, guides and detailed instructions, interpret them literally and respond accurately? Will you devote the many hours of study and care to do this yourself. Are you good at detail work? Do you have the time, aptitude and attitude to do this yourself? If you can't honestly answer yes to each and every one of those questions, you might be wise to enlist professional assistance. If you do, research the service thoroughly. Some advertise better than they serve.

I'm capable of fixing my air conditioner, but am unwilling to devote the study and effort to learn to do so myself. In Texas, in May, I don't have time to do any of that. It's hot. My air conditioner needs fixed NOW. (If it breaks. Fortunately, it hasn't)
