This is what we did thus far:

While NVC case was being transferred to Embassy, we called NVC to get the Case # and

used that to complete the PCC (my fiancee took the USCIS NOA2 as proof since we did

not receive the NVC approval letter in mail. Police Department accepted NOA2, but I

think they wanted the NVC letter).

We setup the Medical Appointment.

Filled out DS-160.

Called Consulate, via http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-main-contactus.asp and used the

SKYPE call, and mentioned NVC Case # and fiancee passport #, they told us to send an

email to support-india@ustraveldocs.com to request for an Interview Appointment.

Consulate sent us an email "Mumbai IV", which has 5 Steps (1 - PCC, 2 - Medical, 3 - DS-160,

4 - Visa Pick-up+Payment and 4 - Setup VAC+Interview Appointment).

We setup our Visa pickup location.

We paid for the Application Fee.

To Do:

Perform the medical.

Setup appointments for VAC (biometrics) and Interview.

b_k - when ustraveldocs emailed you with the instructions to set up the appointment aka Packet 4, what was the earliest appointment available?

Hi,

We received the "checklist" packet via email on May 18.

We went online and setup our interview appointment about May 19.

The only available dates:

May 2x (forgot the exact date, but the first one was late May).

June 6

June 13

Nothing in July/August/etc...!

So we didn't have much choice!

Good luck

My fiancee recieved the same emailed 'checklist' packet via mail about 5 days after the email.

So the thing to do:

soon as Consulate receives papers from NVC, call Consulate (via SKYPE call as

mentioned above, which seems to be the fastest) and tell them you would like to

make a Visa Interview Appointment, they will ask for Beneficiary's Name and

Passport # and the NVC Case #. Once they are satisfied that you are ready,

they can email the "checklist" packet and also mail it to beneficiary. This way,

you can proceed faster (as you don't have to wait for the mail). Just follow the

checklist and it's easy.

Once we finished Steps 1-4 in the checklist packet (which I attached in previous post),

we scheduled appointments (biometrics and visa interview) in Step 5. So we got to

choose our own interview date, but to my surprise, the dates were very limited.

We went online to make an appointment about May 19, and the only dates available

were the ones posted in previous post. Basically just 1 date in late May and two dates

in June, nothing in July/August!!!

Normally this is not a problem, but I want to be there with my fiancee on the interview

day, so now I have to make travel plans accordingly.

Hii ,

We received your same checklist packet on the 6th of june. The beneficiary is done with the obtaining of the PCC from the passport office and have her medical done. She's in the process of filling up the DS-160 form.As she has some doubts in filling her form its taking little longer for obtaining a confirmation bar code .Can you please tell me is it possible to follow the step 4 in the letter in the mean time i.e paying of the visa fee and creating a profile ? How early should we pace up things so that her medical do not expire (if applicable) or its late?

Hi,

I don't know about the time frames cause we did things fairly fast and at a good pace. But if you have any concerns, you should try to call the Consulate and ask them questions (via the Skype call I mentioned in earlier post). I'd suggest to follow the Steps in the packet they provided. I'm sure they'd give you resonable time to do things (just don't take months and months:).
