Thanks, Its on 12th. I had a question for you, i posted earlier also but i think u missed it.

Anyway, m seeing many of the folks are getting biometrics before medical (applies to your case also). But when i contacted USTravelDoc guys they say that u need to bring medical report for biometrics. Hws that possible???

Also, if you check US Travel Docs website, they do ask for ample documentation.

First of all Medical appointment and OFC appointment (for fingerprinting and digitital pics) are two different things. They do not depend on each other. Any one can be done before the other or maybe on the same day.

For both you need to make appointments - OFC you make the appointment @US Travel Docs website, for the doctor you have to call them or email them (in Hyderabad they wanted her to email them the interview letter and then they emailed her with the medical date).

The OFC appointment takes less than an hour. You walk in with your passport, interview letter, DS260 confirmation page (from the CEAC website) and the OFC appointment letter from the US Travel Docs site.

For Medical, they want - passport, 4 pics, IL, and vaccination records. And any other previous medical history (records). Medical is taking lot longer for her. She had an appointment on Monday 5/19 @9:30 am. They took X-ray, and collected lab samples. Then asked her to come back to meet the doctor at 2:30 in the afternoon. She had to go to work. So she went back on Tuesday 5/20 @2:30 pm. They said it could take up to 4 hours. But as of now I have not heard from her. So maybe she is still waiting there.

So I was wondering, with the AOS and income level, what is acceptable if I am the only sponsor? The 2014 poverty level was like $19,662. So if I have an Adjusted gross income of 45k + I should be good right? I noticed a couple of people had it where the income was disputed at the Embassy/Consulate during the interview so I'm just wondering what is and isn't acceptable. So if my income is not going to be enough then I will plan out getting a Joint Sponsor now before my wife's interview.

I've also seen a lot of talk about job letters. Is a job letter necessary for me? I didn't send one to the NVC. In my AOS all I sent was 2010, 2011, 2012 taxes and W2's. And I also sent like 3 months of paystubs. My job hasn't changed in 2 years, and it's a stable job. I didn't send any asset info either like my home, savings accounts or anything. Should I send these things to my wife as a backup?

Well if what you make meets the guideline you are safe. You have to realize people don;t tell everything when they just say "I have to get co-sponsor". Maybe they just got the job. Maybe their last year was under but current okay. Maybe their current is too close to the guidelines.

What you quoted is for family of 2 if you make 45K you are well above.

No Employment letters aren't required just a good thing to have to go along with pay-stubs long as you have pay-stubs you should be fine. Also I see no 2013 i hope you filed or can present extension because that will probably be asked for. Most current taxes filing.

And you are way going over board. you make enough so why would you use assets. You are fine. No need to muddy the situation. Its income or assets (either/or).

$19662 is the right number for a family of 2 (125% of HHS Poverty Guidelines). So your income is plenty good. You need to send her the 2013 Tax Transcript (or 2013 Tax Return +W2), new form I-864 (with the 2013 income info). This is a must. At the consulate they will ask for it for sure.

The employment letter would be great. Since you are going to mail her this package anyway why not include the letter also. It must be on a company letter head with signature in ink by someone like a supervisor or someone in Payroll/HR/Accounting etc.

Use DHL to mail the package to India. They are super fast.

Thank you both for the response. I am planning to go to India in a couple of weeks so I will be taking all my documents with me. I'll do the new AOS based on the 2013 taxes today or tomorrow.

They answered the phone AFTER midnight, just to tell me the Supervisor review found my Police Certificate (I won't bother crying about the $48 I spent sending them another one last week... because I'm WAY TOO HAPPY right now )

Yes her VAC was done earlier. Medicals got done today 5/20. She will get the report tomorrow.

I have been looking at airfares. However, she can not leave soon after the interview. She will need to give her employer a month's notice. So we are looking middle of July for POE.
