Hi,

I will have my n400 interview next month, it says I have to bring all the passports. I have 4 passports in my life up to this moment, but I lost/misplaced my 1st and 2nd expired passports which cover from 1995 to 2005, now I can only show my 3rd (expired) and 4th passports (still valid) which cover from 2005 to 2015. Is this good enough just to show the passports covering 10 years?

How long ago for the passports do the immigration officers want?

Thank you for your help in advanced.

You will need to show you travels from the time of you becoming permanent resident (3/5 years rule )

So as long as you have your current passport to present you will be fine

whatever trips you listed in your n-400 application

You are fine with your passports. I didn't have my oldest ones either and the officer didn't care about them.

So I assume you don't have a passport because you haven't traveled out of the U.S. in such a long time that it's expired and you got rid of it? In that case it doesn't matter since it only matters so they can verify the entry stamps for the past five years (or three years if filing based on marriage) of your stay in the U.S.

My passport was expired a while ago but I had kept that one and she did not make a fuss about it.

If you don't have your passport because it was stolen and you've traveled recently outside of the U.S., I believe you would need to make a police report about the missing/stolen passport and bring it with you to the interview to show the officer why you don't have your current passport you have recently traveled with.

Don't worry too much.. :)
