Hi, does anyone know what options are available to going to the us before receiving the k3/cr1 visa?? I was thinking of looking to obtain a visitor visa so I can be in the us while i wait for the application to process. Since we are getting married in August, we wont be filing the application until then, so I was considering applying for a visitor visa first so i can go to the states. But, I am concerned with how that would effect the k3/cr1 visa application process and I don't want to be declined. I heard that applying for a visitor visa during the spousal visa application could get you declined due to immigrant intent as well.. Does anyone know a way around the waiting time at all?? It would be greatly appreciated. 8 months just seems so long..

Canadian's don't need a visitor visa. As long as you have a passport you can visit the states for up to 6 months (180 days). Just be prepared to show evidence that you are returning and not planning on immigrating during this trip. That may be hard considering you are applying for K3/CR1.
