I am in Wisconsin and the snow gets to be about 30 inches and we just had a -40 degree weather and my husband is from Ethiopia :lol:  ... I just have to convince him that all the states are like this or he will soon want to move lol...the bad thing about it is if everything work out he will be coming in dead winter :(:(:unsure::unsure::wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko: ...

My husband and I are in a similar situation. I'm from Pittsburgh where it gets pretty cold and plenty of snow as well (this past winter was just horrible!!) and my husband is from India, the part where it doesn't get cold either, so I'm wondering how he's going to handle that! LOL At the slllloooooowwwww rate we seem to be going :clock: , it could be late spring by the time he gets here so quite possibly I can ease him into our 4 seasons! :D

My wife wanted us to go to Toronto last January to visit some friends... hahaha, we didn't end up going because I needed a tourist visa and we definitely didn't feel like doing MORE paperwork and spending more $ when I'll be able to go without a visa once I have my green card (soon???). I think I would have frozen! We must be made differently, my body can barely make it in -20F weather.

Hahaha that sounds about right! 65F sounds wonderful. Oddly enough I HATE summer too... all my life I always thought I "loved winter", but my wife just laughed at me a lot back when we started dating and she realized "winter" to me meant 30-45F.

I guess I'll have to amend that to "I love fall as long as it's not too cold".

How did you meet your wife? And all of you others April filers?

We met first met online about 10 years ago, not on a dating site or anything but in a group chat for a mutual interest. I fell for her quite quickly, she never saw me as more than a friend. Nothing was possible really anyway because of the distance but we maintained the friendship online and about 7 years later I finally went to America for a week on an unrelated trip and I asked her to meet up. By the second night I was confessing and the rest I guess is history. Getting married for us wasn't a possibility until June last year because of DOMA so even though this process is long and painful I feel incredibly lucky and grateful that we can finally do it! Before, we had no idea what we were going to do.

That is a very nice story :) i am sure you love each other very much, you need to in orddr to get through this journey! Gay mariage is not recognize in every state though right? You are gonna stay in California? Sorry if I dont know, in Canada it is recognize everywhere.

For us well... funny story :P we met online too, in 2008 on an online game haha. We liked each other a lot! But our brain thought it was stupid, ultra geek and plain impossible. In 2010 I moved in avery remote place where only dial up internet was available, I wouldnt be able to play nor use Skype anymore...so I would never see hik again... so we both admited our feelings. 1 year later he was in Canada, visiting. 3 months later we were married, and 9 months after that I was pregnant :) now... we want to live in usa. It is a hard decision, but we will make it through. :)
