It depends where your I-129F has been processed. CSC is pretty fast for approval but very slow sent the approved petition to NVC. Meanwhile, TSC is quite slow compare to its counterpart to approved but they are faster when sent I-129F to NVC. Mine processed at TSC and it only took 2 weeks from approval date on USCIS website to get my case number. Some other VJ member here had waited almost 3 months to get her case number and hers processed at CSC. But that was back around 2013.

Most K1's don't stay at NVC for long, a few days or so. Others are set aside for further checks. Are you sure NVC have got your petition?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Yes, I spoke with the NVC this morning. They received our paper work from CSC on April 4th. The rep also mentioned them doing some additional checks?

Ok. Sounds like they may be doing AP. They do that from time to time on K1's...have done since we went through there. Nobody back then knew what the heck was going on, it was right when they started doing it. There was a group of us who were quite worried about it, there wasn't even anything here on VJ to tell us what they were up to. At least now, it isn't the big worrying mystery it was once!

It's a pain in the neck, but the times are down now to 2 or 3 weeks or less, if that is what is going on. All you can do is wait, and call them now and then to find out when it moves along. All the best, and I hope they get on with it soon!

Edited to add: If you look in the NVC forum, there is an active thread on K1 AP at NVC.
