I am feeling a tinge-actually A LOT- on envy that is hard to get away from. My sister-in-law announced she is pregnant this past week and I am jealous. Maybe it is a subconscious competition thing, or I just want a baby really bad and she is pregnant first.

Anyone ever gone through this? I am having trouble even talking to her, and it kills me to even think about it! How do I get rid of this jealousy? I don't think I have ever ever ever been this jealous of anyone in my life. help :(

Ditto what Lisa said, and it will be great to spend your time with that baby when he/she comes. Keep reminding yourself that your fiance isn't even here yet, and you don't want to share him with a kid yet! (At least that's how I would be thinking) :)

fiance isn't here yet? Did I miss something...thought they were removing conditions.. Well, I may be messed up too, dunno.

Anyway...probably pretty easy to feel this way, but being jealous won't help things along for you, unfortunately. :( It will happen, and I'm sure it's hard to wait, but as others have said...get some practice in the meantime. (F) M.

Ive been to a gyno and he thinks i have endometritis (however you spell it) so im waiting for a scan for this.

I would not say i get jealous, just sad sometimes as im not getting any younger at 30 and we would really like a baby.

Im very lucky i have a daughter who is 5, she is the light of my life.... if i cant have more, im lucky to have even one.

I'm sorry, ace!

Try to be happy for your cousin, even though it's so hard.

Especially when you see couples trying so hard for a baby for long amounts of time, yet teenagers are getting pregnant all over the place, who didn't even want to be pregnant. (not speaking of your cousin there)

I don't have any personal advice since I've never been in that position and it seems it would be very hard. But remember, all over, there are women who are taking awhile to get pregnant for various reasons. And it is hard for them to see other people get pregnant (like you are dealing with). But then when your time comes, I'm sure you would like other people to be thrilled for you also! :) There may be people you know who would even be jealous if you got preg and they still could not. But you still would want their happiness for you, right? I hope I'm making sense. Just try putting yourself in your cousin's place, and how she would want people to be happy about it and how you one day will want people to be happy when you get preg.

So try to think of that, and show the happiness that you would want to be shown when you got pregnant. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you..." I know you are a fellow Christian so you won't be offended by those words. They are very hard words at times, but so true. Pay it forward, so to speak. Your happiness for her will be repayed by her happiness for you in the future.

Have you looked into any message boards? I've been looking a lot on all different babycenter.com forums since we may start trying to get pregnant soon. I am sure you would find a lot of support and people who feel the exact way you do that you can vent with without being judged.

Hope you feel better soon!! :)

Well, I've not been in your shoes, but I have been on the receiving end of the 'jealousy'.

When I became pregnant, one of my best friends was a bit 'strange' about it. I thought it had to do with her opinion of my marriage. At any rate, turns out it wasn't that at all. She had two healthy children of her own, but had been advised she shouldn't have anymore.

One day we are talking on the phone, and she fairly bursts into tears 'confessing' that it's been so hard for her to be supportive of me and my pregnancy. She said it was so terribly difficult to watch my belly grow knowing she couldn't have anymore babies. She said she felt selfish and horrible and felt like she hadn't been a good friend at all.

I felt this immediate sorrow for her and hated we were on the phone. I just wanted to wrap my arms around her. I had noticed odd behavior from her, but never once did I feel she had abandoned me or our friendship. And I told her that - that I never once felt anything 'mean' from her. It seemed to be a catharsis for her just to get it out in the open.

She and her husband later adopted two more children - from India. They essentially have raised two families - their two 'birth' daughters, who are both in college and this 'second' batch of young ones, nearing junior high age.

my heart and body is telling me it is time. My husband is apprehensive, but said he would be happy if we got pregnant, just that he is not ready to exactly "try".

I've also been excited at the thought of having a baby for awhile. But we made a time frame in our mind, because of some other things going on, that we should wait a certain amount of time until we try. But that time is approaching soon. :)

Maybe you can write a pro and cons list on having a baby soon. Because once a baby comes, so many things change. And it's easy to look at cute babies and want one, but with the baby comes exhaustion, more money being spent, less alone time, etc, though of course with the baby also comes a lot of love and joy.

Is your husband apprehensive for financial reasons? Lifestyle changes, like instead of the two of you alone, adding another person into the mix? Ask him when he thinks he'd be ready to try. If he has no real answer, maybe he can at least tell you why he is apprehensive. I hope you both can come to an agreement that makes you both happy somehow! :)

I know how you feel. Tho maybe mine is worse :) who knows.

I was pregnant in feb of 2004 and 6 months after that me and edi's baby died before birth. so while devistation of this my sister announces shes pregnant. I was so jealous!! not only bc she was pregnant, but that i lost mine and she was prolly going to have hers.

I did eventually get pregnant again (yea we are rabbits hahaha) a few months after the miscarriage. but i will never forget that jealous feeling i had when my sister announced she was pregnant.

the crappiest part was, it was a false alarm. the lil bitty was never pregnant, it was a faulty preg test.

Its a hard feeling to have, and you will eventually have a baby. Just be patient and your time will come. Until then i have an 11 yr old who hates me right now, so just think of that to look forward to :P

Oh and i too have endometritis, its the reason why me and eds baby girl died 3 months before birth.

but we did manage to have abeautiful baby boy who is now 19 months old :)
