I have a girlfriend in the Philippines and i want her to have a vacation her because she just graduated and want to spend time with me. What to do?

She gathers up all the evidence she can to show that she will return to the PI after her visit. This must be of such evidence to convince the IO that a single, young female in the PI who has a BF in the US will not use the tourist visa to come to the US and then get married and file for AOS.

Have her try. It only costs the visa fee.

Good luck,

Dave

Thanks! Any example of evidence?

Excellent job that she would be stupid to abandon.

Normally children, but that does not seem to work in PI.

Could be.

How about a work? Is that a good reason to return?

What does she make $5 per day with a 6 month contract?

Seems to me that the only ones who can get a Tourist Visa in Philippines is : Elderly and people who have money and land.

But it's always worth a shot.

If it were me I would go to Philippines and spend month with her and let that be her summer vacation, and Summer time is now in Philippines

If she was earning anything like that how could she afford a vacation in the US?

Good Luck. Philippines is hard to get a tourist visa in the USA. You have to prove strong ties to the Philippines. A family business, run by the family doesn't sound like strong ties to me. My advice, think of it this way... You are the officer at the interview, You are trying to protect the interests of the USA from thongs of Philippinos who are desparate to escape the poverty and the desperation in the Philippines. (not that the philippines is really like that) You quite literally believe that you are defending the USA from those who would otherwise over run it. Now with that frame of mind think about what this young woman could present that would change your mind and convince you that she would be returning to the Philippines and not staying in the 'land of oportunity'. A family... not likely (she'd get a job in the USA illegally overstay her visa and send money back to them), A large family bank account... probably not... a family business.. Maybe.. how is her presence key to the success of that business, how would the business survive without her. I'm not saying consulatate officers are mean or prejudiced.. They are required by US law to assume that the person applying will overstay their visa until you can prove otherwise. Doing so is hard to do in the Philippines but not impossible. If you can't convince yourself then as others have posted your best bet is to plan a vacation in the Philippines with her. It's a huge country with lots of diversity. Odds are that she probably has not seen parts of it and having an opportunity to see another part of her own country would probably be almost as good as the USA. Take a look at CEBU pacific website they often run specials for internal flights at just 99 Pesos + taxes and fees (that's $2 US). If you go make sure that you keep boarding passes and pictures/receipts together in case you decide to eventually bring her to the USA as your financee or spouse.

They have a family business.

That does not mean anything in itself, you mean she has a good well paid job?

Hehe, good luck. I tried this for my wife, at the time my girlfriend and she was denied. This was our evidence:

1. Hotel reservations at Walt Disney World

2. Full itenerary

3. Return flight tickets

4. Proof of her with a job as a QA Manager for Team Mobile UK

5. Letter of return to work from her HR Manager

6. Proof of her next semister tuituon at the University of the Philippines

7. Family and friend ties

8. Active Church Community Leader ties

9. About $8,000 USD (in pesos) in her bank account

10. Property deed.

We applied for her Tourist Visa and they asked her 3 questions:

1. How old are you?

2. Have you ever been to the USA?

3. Are you married?

Answered all three truthfully and was denied. A tourist visa for a single young filipina is a near impossible feat, but if you have money to burn, go for it.

However, you should do what I did... planned a sweet vacation in Singapore on Sentosa Island. They have lots of cool stuff there like aquariums, malls, worlds largest ferris wheel, beaches and Universal Studios. I never regretted it and we both got to experience a new country together!
