Me and my USC fiance are about to send our I-129F package in a couple of weeks. Here are my questions.

1. How to pay the $340 fee for the I-129F package?

2. What to put in the package itself as the proof of the payment?

You have to include your check or money order (prepared as described) as stated on pages 1 and 6 of the Form I-129F instructions:

Yes. Your check or money order is your receipt and proof of payment.

just include the check or money order when you send in the package. unlike other parts of the process, you don't pay in advance.

1. You write a check for the amount, payable to U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY. You will paperclip this check to the top of your I-129F package.

2. You do not include proof of payment.

No - you send the check with everything else in one package. Package without check will get returned immediately.

Technically, the Form I-797c, Notice of Action, Petition Receipt (NOA1), is the official receipt that you will receive from USCIS acknowledging receipt of the petition and the correct payment. Most folks receive one from after successful submission of the I-129F petition and the correct payment.
