Congratulations to all. We are awaiting the Embassy to receive our information from the NVC. It's weird because I am a tad confused about what goes on now. My fiancé was required to fill out the DS-160 when we tried to use the Consular Electronic website. Isn't there a DS-260 and DS-261 form that we have to complete before it goes to the Embassy? Hopefully we'll hear something back soon. If anyone has experience in this route, let me know please.

The only thing I needed was the DS-160. I think the DS-260 is for other family immigration, not the K-1. The Packet 3 will tell you for sure.

Thank you chiggins82. I figured the DS-160 was it because when I log in to the Consular Electronic website for the Department of State, I have no options to click on anything. I reall appreciate your response.

I just called the NVC to see what's going on with my case. I had received approval letter on september 16th. They said they haven't received my case yet. I don't know what should I do. Did anyone have similar problem here? I would really appreciate any input on this matter.

We were approved September 24th and the NVC received our information October 9th. When I called the first time (which was like 2 days after we got the email and text of approval lol), they told me to wait 25 days AFTER I received the actual NOA2 letter. I gave them about 3 weeks and I called again on October 14th and they told me that they have received it.

Mine took 3-4 weeks too before we heard from NVC. I read somewhere that CSC takes longer to send to NVC.... I don't know if it is true or not, but I know mine took a while. My fiance called for a week or two before we got the case number

Hey guys!

Our Interview was scheduled almost immediately after our info for Packet 3 was sent in (they just wanted DS-2001 Statement of Readiness, DS-230 Part 1, Biopage of valid passport, and DS-160 Confirmation Page). But of course, we're extra (like every one should be in this process), but we sent in all of our evidence, because they were not clear on what they wanted from us (which is listed above), but I am so happy that we sent everything in to them because my fiance had submitted the wrong police clearance and birth certificate. They want documents from Congo, not the Congo Embassy in South Africa. Not only that, they want originals and translations. My fiance asked his father to retrieve them since he no longer resides there, but I am so afraid that we will not receive them in time for our interview which is 5 weeks away. Sorry guys, just venting. But I am definitely going to put it in God's hands and take a chill pill.

If you have the interview sooner than when the documents arrive, you can still interview but will get a 221g letter stating what is still

missing and you submit it later.

Right, the documents will get reviewed first before an approval.

Yes,I believe it will take that long at least. It depends on how fast the officials will issue the documents and then find a courrier to ship

them from there to your fiance. I don't know if DHL is available there or which other shippers.

Some officials take a week or so to issue the documents, some on the same day. So the sooner the family will start that process

the better. You can search for some Congo members and PM them (not many here) and see if they know how long it will take to issue

a police certificate and birth certificate.

You're amazing! When he spoke to his father, they already received the birth certificates but the police clearance is what they are waiting on now. And just to clarify, the originals and translations have to come from there, right? They are using DHL, which makes me feel so much better. I just pray that he gets the correct documents in a timely manner.
