06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

NO! Once the visa is in your passport and they see the visa at the airport you are going to need the CFO sticker.

These ideas to "dodge" CFO come up every so often, some tries to figure a way around getting the sticker.

Just go to CFO, get the sticker...

Finished CFO today (no visa yet) and it went good, they divided us into two groups so in our group we were only 9 so the counselor interviewed us one by one, just asked two or three questions about petitioner.

I just presented photocopies of passport and 2 govt ID's , no other questions asked and was issued the certificate with no problem.?

That is good to hear, maybe CFO got the hint and has backed off with the "insanity" of questions and document demands.

All of us in our group said positive feedbacks so maybe yeah hehe... Thanks to you also for being very helpful! I just need to fill out the ds160 then interview?

Maybe a little off topic but still applies to CFO experience....

The CFO website is not overly clear about this requirement so I though I'd inquire here about recent knowledge.

Does my wife need her 3 year old daughter's passport in hand before being able to register her daughter's departure when my wife attends the CFO seminar or are the supporting documents sufficient? And then pickup the 'sticker' later after the daughter's passport is available with the US visa.

If this is not the case then my wife will need to delay scheduling her CFO seminar. Her daughter's passport application interview is scheduled for Oct. 13 and no idea how long it will take to receive.

You need the passport ++ to register the child, your wife can attend the CFO seminar now then register her daughter and get the sticker for both later. There is added info in my link on CFO (doesn't matter about K-1 CFO is the same for CR-1):

http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1347:for-filipinos-leaving-the-country-with-an-immigrant-visa&catid=139:pre-departure-orientation-seminar&Itemid=917

Requirements for Registration:

  1. Original and photocopy of passport (must be valid about six months before date of travel)
  2. Original and photocopy of visa
  3. One (1) 2x2 or passport-size photograph

Hank,

First let me express my appreciation for all the information you provide on this site.

I re-read the CFO, DSWD, and your site and tried to piece together the actual requirements since departures of children under 12 are not specifically addressed anywhere that I could see.

Before passing to my asawa can you confirm the following scenario so she doesn't have to make any more forays into Manila than is absolutely necessary:

Wife schedules CFO appointment on-line.

Wife attends CFO seminar with her passport, with no US visa, and supporting documents.

Wife receives her and daughter's passport back from USEM with valid visa.

Wife returns to CFO with her passport/visa, daughter's passport/visa, and daughter's supporting documents.

Wife receives her CFO sticker, registers daughter's exit, receives daughter's sticker. I am presuming this line can be accomplished on the same return visit to CFO?

TIA

Jim

Wife schedules CFO appointment on-line. CORRECT!

Wife attends CFO seminar with her passport, with no US visa, and supporting documents. YES THAT IS AN OPTION

Wife receives her and daughter's passport back from USEM with valid visa.

Wife returns to CFO with her passport/visa, daughter's passport/visa, and daughter's supporting documents. WIFE WILL ALSO NEED TO BRING DATA SUMMARY SHEET PLUS A COPY (WHICH MEANS BRINGING THE "DO NOT OPEN" ENVELOPE" AS THE DATA SHEET IS ATTACHED (IF MEMORY SERVICES), COPY OF PASSPORT AND VISA FOR BOTH, AND YES OTHER REQUIREMENTS LISTED FOR THE CHILD

Wife receives her CFO sticker, registers daughter's exit, receives daughter's sticker. I am presuming this line can be accomplished on the same return visit to CFO?

TIA

Jim

Regarding DSWD - You don't need anything regarding this as long as the child is traveling with her mother.

"WHO DOES NOT NEED TRAVEL CLEARANCE?

  • All minors other than those cited above, for example:
  • A minor traveling to a foreign country with either parent

- See more at: http://www.dswd.gov.ph/faqs/travel-clearance-for-minors/#sthash.J2wjZJIF.dpuf"

Can I presume that the data summary sheet is a document she will get after attending the seminar that she will need to obtain the 'sticker'.
